These Must-Have Stylish Fall Outfits Are All Under $50

"Affordable" is a funny word these days.

You spot a cute dress, some shoes and soon enough, your shopping cart is packed to the brim with seemingly affordable pieces that really add up in the end.

So alas, we're still left with the age old question: How can you look like a million bucks without shelling out the cash? We challenged ourselves to find six fashionable outfits that are each under $50. You read that right, $50.

It was no easy task, but alas, we suggest you get that shopping cart ready, because here's how to look like you shopped at Chanel on an H&M budget.

Look 1: Boho Babe

Fall is all about unique layering. Take a striped dress, like this one from Romwe.com ($17) and layer it over this fitted, mock neck top from H&M ($13). The only finishing touches you need are a pair of simple black loafers ($16.50) and your backpack. The great thing about this look is you're investing in two black basics and a dress you can wear next summer.

Look 2: Polished

An outfit like this is great for days when you want to look sophisticated, on a dime! Think job interview, a class presentation or a nice lunch with the fam. Culottes are instant-chic, so pick up these on sale at Uniqlo ($20) and tuck in a pretty white blouse, like this one from Forever 21 ($10). Finish off the look with ASOS' leopard print flats ($20) that are sure to steal the show!

Look 3: French Girl

Channel your inner French girl with a breton stripe top from Forever 21 ($13.) We'd wear this with medium wash jeans ($20), a white bandana ($3) and these two-toned shoes from Target ($14). Styling tip: fold the bandana into a thin rope and tie around your neck.

Look 4: Sporty Spice

The sporty look is not only functional, it's super comfortable and great for days when you may have pressed snooze a few too many times. Reach for this black long sleeve tee dress ($13), slip on these black H&M sneaks ($10), throw on a black cap ($8) and head for the door! And because you have a little left over cash, grab this structured H&M satchel ($10) and a pair of mirrored sunglasses ($9).

Look 5: Cozy-Casual

Just because an outfit is "minimal" doesn't mean it's affordable. For this look, we went for an outfit comprised of classics: a gray cardigan ($23), white jeans ($19) and a black tee ($6). Also, fall is the time to buy white jeans because they typically go on sale. And for the record, you can—and should—wear white denim year round. Pair this outfit with your regular sneakers for school or the weekend.Gray cardigan, black tee, white jeans

Look 6: Modern Minimalism

The goal is to look effortless. But, the reality is, looking effortless actually takes a lot of effort. Here's an easy outfit to get you started–a white long side-slit shirt from Forever 21 ($14) worn over slouchy joggers from ASOS ($16). Then, throw on some black stacked jellies from ASOS ($20) and call it a day.

Here's a secret: The key to looking chic on a dime is patience. Don't make quick purchases that you end up regretting later, take the time to check the sale bins on all your fave sites and buy things that you actually want and will wear. Also, always check the return policy before you buy.

Now that you've seen six fall looks under $50, HERE are the big fall trends to keep your eye on right now.
