7 Skincare Changes to Make Now That It’s Fall

Now that it's finally fall, it's officially time to take a look at your skincare routine.

Chances are it's more catered to summer weather, but now that the air is getting more crisp and dry, you might need to swap out some skincare products. Not sure where to begin? Here are seven skincare changes you should make now that it is fall.

1. Wear an Overnight Lip Mask

The first thing you'll probably notice getting drier during the autumn month is your lips. That's why we love the idea of wearing a lip mask each and every night! These lip treatments do all of the work while you sleep, and you'll wake up every morning with smooth, moisturized and hydrated lips.

2. Use a Thicker Moisturizer

Now that the weather is cooling, your skin might start to feel tighter, which is why it's important to swap out your light moisturizer for one with a thicker texture. This allows the formula to really penetrate your skin barrier and ensure you're left with smooth and quenched skin.

3. Don't Stop Using Sunscreen

Just because summer is over does not mean the sun is going on vacation! In fact, overcast weather oftentimes means the UV is even higher, so now, more than ever, is an important time to make sure you're protected in SPF.

4. Limit Usage of Exfoliants

While most of us love exfoliants and their power to strip the skin of dead skin cells, they're not always the best idea to use during the fall months. Instead of using an exfoliant every day or even every other day, try to limit your usage to one to two times a week. Your skin will thank you!

5. Add in Some Vitamin C

If you're not already using a vitamin C serum in your skincare routine, fall is the perfect time to do so. It's a great protector of the skin— especially from environmental factors—and will leave you with an even tone and strengthened collagen production.

6. Use a Gentle Cleanser

Gentle cleansers are an absolute must during the fall months. Your skin is going through some major shifts as the seasons change, so it's important to treat your skin as gently as possible. Instead of reaching for your typical cleanser, go for one that's easier on the skin, like a milk cleanser!

7. Optional: Get a Monthly Facial

Getting a monthly facial is totally optional, but if you have the means to get it done, we think you should go for it! Seeing a facialist regularly—especially during the fall—will be a total game-changer for you and your skin. They're the professionals and can focus on regeneration!
