The New Fantastic Beasts 2 Trailer Gives New Life to an Infamous Harry Potter Character
J.K. Rowling has done it again.
The writer behind both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series keeps managing to surprise us with intriguing connections between them. Most recently, we discovered that a creepy character from the later Harry Potter books/movies plays an important role in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The big reveal came in the film's final trailer, when we finally heard the name of Claudia Kim's character: Nagini.
Nagini, as you may remember, first appeared in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. She was the snake that did Lord Voldemort's deadly bidding and was also one of the Horcruxes. However, she is apparently much more than just a snake. The Crime of Grindelwald reveals that she used to be a circus performer and would transform from woman to serpent.
"It will be so interesting to see another side of Nagini," Claudia told Entertainment Weekly. "You've only seen her as a Horcrux. In this, she's a wonderful and vulnerable woman who wants to live. She wants to stay a human being."
Watch the trailer below to see Claudia as Nagini.
After the trailer was released, Claudia shared a poster from the movie that also features her as Nagini.
It's definitely going to be interesting to learn more about her and how Nagini fits into the saga.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald hits theaters Nov. 16.
