All Of Our Thoughts Watching The “Fantastic Beasts” Trailer
The next best thing to getting a new Harry Potter book has finally happened. This new trailer proves we weren't dreaming up the spin-off movie. A new wizard is coming to the big screen in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, and this time he's Eddie Redmayne, AND he's coming to America!
The trailer begins with just enough magic to leave us flailing with fangirl glee. We've never been happier to hear "lumos maxima"!
We discover that our hero Newt Scamander's patronus MIGHT be the Warner Bros. logo…
AND this movie just might manage to be even more magical than any Harry Potter movie that came before it because it was ACTUALLY written by J.K. Rowling! ? This is her first screenplay ever, and we're confident it will be the best screenplay ever.
So the movie follows our bae, magizoologist Newt Scamander. He's a British wizard in New York in the 1920s, and he's got a briefcase. ?
It happens to be a MAGICAL briefcase that happens to house a bunch of fantastic beasts.
Since keeping dragons, hippogriffs and other mythical creatures in a briefcase is obviously a terrible idea, they all escape and start to terrorize American wizards and no-maj alike. Did we mention that we call muggles "no-maj" here?
Soon, the Magical Congress of the United States of America has to take a break from looking perfectly regal and mysterious 24/7 to get involved and help to sort out Newt's beast problem.
- We are in love with the head of Congress's fierce flapper style.
- That U.S. flag bald eagle emblem is SO striking and cool. We CAN'T wait to learn more about the magical side of America (and get sorted into our patriotic houses!).
It looks like Newt will have to use his very specialized knowledge of fantastic beasts (and where to find them) to, of course, find them.
The movie is out in 2016, and 2016 is in just 16 days. We can do this!
Wait, NOVEMBER 2016?!? How can you do this to us, J.K.?
If you haven't seen the entire glorious trailer yet, PLEASE do yourself a favor and watch it right here!
We know how painful it is that we all have to wait almost a year for Fantastic Beasts (especially considering that this first trailer doesn't actually show us a single beast!), BUT we do know how to make it a little bit easier. THIS QUIZ will tell you which Harry Potter book you are, and the results are so accurate they must be magic.
