Finn Wolfhard’s Band Released a 6-Song EP, and It’s Really Good

Finn Wolfhard is not only an accomplished actor, he's an awesome singer too!

The 15-year-old Stranger Things star (who plays Mike Wheeler on our fave Netflix series) is a member of a four-person, Vancouver-based indie-rock band called Calpurnia. The band's six-track debut EP, "Scout," is out today, June 15, and Finn couldn't be more psyched about sharing it with his devoted fans.

In an interview with Stereogum, the teen talked about how he copes with nerves, the connection between his music and acting careers, and how he deals with passionate Stranger Things fans.

Finn and his bandmates have had a series of tour dates, and even though the Vancouver native is so stranger to being in front of the camera, he admitted to being nervous before going on stage.

"I still had complete nerves," he said. "But if you don't have nerves then you don't really care as much. You need to have those nerves to get your energy up."

As for how his approach to acting and music are related, Finn explained, "I'm always thinking about what to say onstage. We like to do onstage bits sometimes to keep people moving and stuff. It's all so spur-of-the-moment and people really like it when you have that banter with the audience—and people definitely know their place now."

When Calpurnia first started playing shows, Finn recalled some of the gigs were "pretty cringey" because Stranger Things fans were shouting at him from the audience, but it's nothing he can't handle.

"If they do scream Stranger Things references I put them in their place," Finn said.

Even when he's logging long hours on the Stranger Things set, Finn is listening to music whenever he can.

"I listen to music before and after I act and it just helps me gather all of my thoughts in one part of my brain so the rest of my brain is focused on art," he said. "Music collects all of the best parts of my brain and puts it into one place, which I find is really really nice and therapeutic."
