We Love Gisou’s Honey-Infused Hair Care Products

When it comes to hair products, I'm pretty particular about what I'll use.

I'm a total snob when it comes to packaging, so if it wouldn't look good with my other products, I'm already turned off. As far as fragrance, it needs to smell good—I think that's pretty reasonable and something everyone can relate to. And lastly, I want my hair products to be cruelty-free.

So, when Gisou reached out to me about testing out their products, I had a feeling they'd be right up my alley. Cute packaging? Check. Cruelty-free? Check. Good smell? TBD. Gisou sent me their Leave-In Conditioner and Hair Oil. Keep reading to find out all about the influencer-founded company, the benefits of honey and to see if the products are worth it.

The Brand

Gisou was founded by Negin Mirsalehi, a social media influencer who's widely known for her incredible hair. Growing up, her mother was a hairdresser and her father was a beekeeper. And after discovering the many benefits of honey for the hair, her mother created a secret honey-infused haircare formula from their family's bee garden.

The Products

Honey Infused Leave-In Conditioner: $34

I typically wash my hair about two times a week, so the next time I washed my hair, I was sure to have my new Gisou products at the ready. The Honey Infused Leave-In Conditioner is Gisou's newest product and I couldn't wait to try it out for myself.

The formula's main ingredient is, you guessed it, honey! Full of amino acids, minerals, vitamins and more, the benefits of honey are truly out of this world. The conditioner is also full of things like baobab extract, argan oil and panthenol. Together, all of the ingredients work to leave hair looking and feeling strengthened, nourished, moisturized and super smooth.

After hopping out of the shower and towel-drying my hair, I liberally applied the conditioner to my damp hair. After I was satisfied, I took my wet brush and got to work. Brushing my hair was a pain-free task and made it way easier than it would have been with no product. Then there was the smell—oh my goodness I can't even begin to describe how boldly the honey came through. If you're into sweet-smelling fragrances, I guarantee you're going to fall in love with this.

Mini Honey Infused Hair Oil: $25

After brushing my locks and using the Leave-In Conditioner, it was on to the Honey Infused Hair Oil, the brand's first and most popular product. I was sent a mini sample, which is about a fifth of the amount of the normal size. It would be great for travel or for night's when you're sleeping over at a friend's house! Since I'm not doing either of those these days, I've been taking it with me to my gym, where I use it after a workout, steam and shower.

I truly can't think of a better feeling than walking out of the gym refreshed and renewed. The hair oil has definitely been a game-changer in the two weeks since I started using it, and I think that's due in large part to the honey aspect. The oil is loaded with honey and works to repair the hair from root to tip. It's also full of other ingredients like sweet almond oil and coconut oil.

Using the teat on the dropper, I gather about three vials full of oil, rub my hands together and apply it to my hair. I avoid my roots and focus on the mid-section and my ends. Then, I twist my hair into a bun, sleep on it and take it out the next morning. The result is super soft, shiny and silky hair. I think this is due to my joint use of the Leave-In Conditioner and the Honey Infused Hair Oil.

Bottom Line

I've always been a big fan of Negin and was so excited to finally try out Gisou—and I was not disappointed. I totally get the hype behind the brand now and plan on using my Gisou products until I've run them dry! And now that the brand has finally launched its first face product and is entering the skincare game with its Honey Infused Face Oil ($60), I definitely plan on trying it out for myself! After all, the magic of honey has proven to work for my hair, so why not my face?

If your hair is important to you, I think the price of these products is absolutely worth it. The oil is relatively pricey, but take it from me when I say I couldn't recommend the brand enough!

@tayaugustin@gisou sent me their leave-in condish + hair oil. My locks were easy to brush, feel smooth and smell bomb. 💣 🍯 ##fyp ##beautyeditor ##honey ##gisou♬ Oh, Pretty Woman – Pomplamoose
