How Megan Ziems’ Bridal Brand Grace Loves Lace Defies Tradition to Empower Brides Everywhere
When Megan Ziems looked at the bridal industry, uninspired by the same basic wedding "uniform" that seemed to be the only option, she decided to do something about it. The result was the beloved Australian bridal brand, Grace Loves Lace.
Grace Loves Lace has always been made with real women in mind, innovating on the viral industry with a new twist on bridal dressing and defying tradition with original designs created to be as empowering as they are luxurious and stylish. What started as an online-only brand has since evolved to ship to more than 80 countries on four continents around the world, and the brand is only continuing to grow. We had the pleasure of chatting with Megan to get an inside look at the brand and her personal story with style in the interview below.

1. Megan's grandmother inspired her interest in style.

2. Her personal style centers on dressing for how she feels.
"[It's] a convergence of comfort and quality. I tend to stay away from trends, instead gravitating toward understated, classic and sophisticated looks. I like to style myself in a way that may appear a bit 'undone'—such as wearing minimal makeup and mixing vintage finds with new pieces. I'm inspired by Barcelona street style and women such as Sienna Miller and Jane Birkin, who possess an authentic, imperfect sense of style and are clearly dressing for themselves because they love it and feel comfortable."

3. Megan started Grace Loves Lace in 2010, with the goal of showing women that they don't have to wear the traditional bridal uniform.
"I wanted to create soft, comfortable, and luxurious designs that women would connect with emotionally and feel naturally beautiful in. Upon delving in, the gap in the bridal industry for accessible, unique, high-quality gowns that valued craftsmanship was evident.
Grace Loves Lace differs from other bridal brands in that the Grace woman is at the forefront of everything we do. She is captivating, effortlessly beautiful, sophisticated yet down to earth and knows exactly what she wants. From our design process to our unrivaled customer service, everything is motivated by making the Grace bride feel like the best version of herself on her wedding day."

4. Grace Loves Lace is "an ode to the woman with Grace."
"She is a woman of substance and passion—a woman living an authentic life who wants to wear luxury that you can dance in."
-Megan Ziems
5. When she's in a rush, her go-to outfit is a silk slip dress with a blazer and loafers.
6. The best pieces of advice she ever got are that life is a marathon, not a sprint, and to celebrate the wins.
"Both are important mantras relevant to how we operate Grace Loves Lace."

9. One thing Megan wants everyone to know about her is how incredibly invested she is in Grace Loves Lace.
