Gravity Falls’ Mabel Pines: A Halloween Tutorial!

It's finally October, which means that Halloween is just around the corner! Every Halloween, Sweety High shares girl power-inspired costume tutorials to help you become your favorite characters for the holiday! This week, we'll show you how to be Gravity Falls heroine, Mabel Pines!mabel pines gravity falls costume

Mabel is an optimistic and spirited character who can see the positive in just about any situation. Her whimsical nature comes across in her various brightly-colored graphic sweaters!

Her curiosity and enthusiasm also provides a stark contrast to her twin brother, Dipper, and his more logical approach to solving the many mysteries that await in Gravity Falls. More than once, her silliness and unorthodox approach is pivotal in getting the job done!

Bringing a Mabel Pines costume to life is simple. You might already have most of the needed accessories!

Mabel's staple is her oversized sweaters. They're often bold and colorful, and are almost always adorned with some kind of fanciful image. If you don't already own a fun sweater like this, thrift shops are the place to look! Goodwill, Salvation Army, or any other local thrift store might surprise you with an amazing sweater you didn't expect! The sweater should also be warm enough for a night of October trick-or-treating!

Once you've got the sweater in place, it's time to color coordinate! Wear your hear long and find a headband that matches the color of your sweater, and put on a skirt that will provide a colorful contrast to your choice sweater. Though Mabel wears a number of different color skirts in the show, her go-to is purple!

The finishing touch is a pair of simple, black flats and ankle socks. A little mascara and bright blush will make you look even more like Mabel. Bonus points if you wear braces!
