A Guide to Every Full Moon in 2025

Whether you're an avid astrologer or simply love a romantic moment and a great photo op, it makes sense to keep track of the cycles of the moon.

Not only are full moons stunning, offering a once-a-month opportunity to marvel at the night sky, but they can also be very meaningful. After each 29-and-a-half day cycle, the full moon represents a kind of spiritual growth, as well as reaping the rewards of everything you've cultivated since the previous full moon.

2025 will see 12 occurrences of the full moon—one for each month—and you can find out more about each one below.

Jan. 13 – Full Wolf Moon

The first full moon of 2025, the Full Wolf Moon, will arrive on Jan. 13. It gets its name from the cold and often snowy winter season, with wolves often howling at the moon to mark their territories. Symbolically, this full moon suggests an emphasis on security and marking your ground. Astrologically, this year's Full Wolf Moon is in Cancer, meaning this is a time to reflect on comfort and the importance of home as you set goals for everything to come.

Feb. 12 – Full Snow Moon

On Feb. 12, the Full Snow Moon will arrive, named for the snow that typically accompanies the final full month of winter. This full moon represents purity and cleansing, particularly as the final snow of the season melts away to set the scene for spring renewal. This full moon is also in Leo, bringing a vibrant spotlight of energy, which may help reignite your passion and kick yourself into gear moving forward.

 

March 13 – Full Worm Moon

March 13 will see the arrival of the Full Worm Moon, which may have one of the most unusual names of all of the full moons. The name comes from the association with spring, with the ground warming and thawing, making way for worms and other life to spring from the earth anew. This represents fresh starts and the potential for anything you set your mind to. This Full Worm Moon is in Virgo, urging us all to find a happy medium between the season's dreamy Pisces vibes and the detail-oriented and structured energy of Virgo.

 

April 12 – Full Pink Moon

While April 12 brings the Full Pink Moon, don't expect a rosy-colored moon in the night sky. Instead, this moon's name refers to the vibrant pink wildflowers of many varieties that have historically appeared all over North America. As that suggests, this full moon symbolizes the warmth and vibrancy of nature in the spring, and the bounty that can come with it. With the full moon in Libra, it also makes this a time for focusing on peace and harmony, as well as maintaining better balance in your life.

May 12 – Full Flower Moon

The Full Flower Moon on May 12 requires little introduction. Arriving at the height of spring, this full moon is named for the abundant flowers of the season, representing not just the literal flowering of the earth, but also the blossoming of life and new potential. This year's Full Flower Moon is in Scorpio, bringing in an unexpectedly emotional energy, reminding us to look inward and consider what's serving us, and what's ready to be released.

 

June 11 – Full Strawberry Moon

Just as peak strawberry season hits the U.S. in June, so does the full Strawberry Moon on June 11. It represents a time of love and sweetness, as well as new and exciting things coming to fruition.  Since this full moon is in Sagittarius, it also brings energy that invites abundance, potentially stirring up wanderlust and inviting good luck.

July 10 – Full Buck Moon

The Full Buck Moon arrives near the height of summer on July 10, getting its name from when male deer—bucks—tend to regrow their antlers. It represents strength and assertiveness, and can also suggest good luck with money. This full moon in Capricorn also makes this a time to reassess your career, examining whether you're on the right path or if a change might be required to be more fulfilled.

 

Aug. 9 – Full Sturgeon Moon

The Full Sturgeon Moon on Aug. 9 gets its name from giant lake sturgeons, which historically were easiest to catch in the late summer in parts of the U.S., making them an important food source. These magnificent fish can live up to 150 years, and thus, they symbolize longevity, endurance and perseverance—something we can all take with us as the summer ends and the fall begins. This year's Full Sturgeon Moon in Aquarius brings in a sense of innovation and going against the current while laying groundwork for the future.

Sep. 7 – Full Corn Moon

On Sep. 7, we welcome the Full Corn Moon, getting its name from the harvesting of corn and other grain crops near the beginning of fall.  This full moon is all about reaping what you've sewn, and enjoying the benefits of all of the hard work you've put in. September's full moon is in Pisces, boosting your sense of intuition and reigniting your spark for creative endeavors.

 

Oct. 6 – Full Hunter's Moon

Oct. 6's Full Hunter's Moon is a very special full moon indeed. It's also this year's Harvest Moon—the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox. Together, these symbolize both hunting an gathering, bringing in a bounty and preparing it for the long, cold months ahead. This is a time for planning and reflection, and ensuring that your affairs are in order. At the same time, the full moon being in Aries suggests fresh starts, a sense of refreshed optimism and the desire to jump into action. On top of all of that, it's also the first of three consecutive supermoons, with the full moon looking huge, as well as extra bright in the night's sky. This may mean you feel the full moon's influence even more profoundly.

Nov. 5 – Full Beaver Moon

The Full Beaver Moon will appear on Nov. 5, named after a time in the year when dipping temperatures typically leave beavers to retreat into their dens for the rest of the year. The full moon suggests you do the same, embracing safety, warmth and comfort of home. The Full Beaver Moon will be in Taurus, further reminding us to focus on the comfort of home and the importance of rest and self-care. It's yet another supermoon we'll all get to witness before the end of the year.

 

Dec. 4 – Full Cold Moon

And finally, the Full Cold Moon is set to arrive on Dec. 4, arriving ahead of the shortest day of the year—and some of the very coldest. It encourages a period of inaction and the chance to stop, reflecting on everything that's led up to it, as well as looking forward to everything that's yet to come. It's also an ideal time to let go of the past, leaving the things that no longer serve you in 2025. The final full moon of the year is in Gemini, reminding us that more time indoors doesn't mean we have to sacrifice friendship, community and communication—especially as we bask under yet another powerful supermoon.
