5 Best Halloween Attractions Across the U.S.
There are certain places that just always do Halloween right.
Whether you like a scare or not, below are five of the best Halloween attractions across the country everyone can enjoy:
Salem, Massachusetts' Haunted Happenings
If you want the full Halloween experience, look no further than historic Salem, Massachusetts. Salem, originally known for its famous witch trials—and also the town featured in the movie Hocus Pocus—is a number one spot for Halloween lovers. The entire town turns upside down to give you food, fun and spooks. There are two haunted houses, Frankenstein's Castle and the Haunted Witch Village. Top it off by taking a peek into your future. There are plenty of top-notch psychics in the area, too.
Spirit of Halloweentown
If you're a fan of Disney's Halloweentown movies, you will certainly be a fan of this attraction. Just last year, Halloweentown became an actual place! The movie was filmed in the small city of St. Helens, Oregon, and this is where Halloweentown lives. For its second year, the city will continue their traditions of lighting the jack o' lantern in the town square and will give you a scare as you walk through the underworld. This year the cast will also gather together to pay special tribute to Debbie Reynolds, who starred in the movie and passed away last year.
Halloween Horror Nights
Halloween Horror Nights are famously at Universal Studios in both Florida and Hollywood. This year, they have more mazes than ever before, featuring famous movies and TV shows, including The Shining, Saw and American Horror Story FX. There is even a Terror Tram that brings you to the famously known Bates Motel. Even after you are totally scared out of your mind, you can rest assured because there is an epic Jabbawockeez dance show that will just blow your mind.
Halloween Time at Disneyland
Disneyland is always fun, but it's even more spook-tacular during Halloween. The park gets all decked out for the festivities, featuring a big Mickey jack o' lantern in the center of Main Street USA, and hundreds of carved pumpkins decorate the walkways. Even Mickey and Minnie Mouse dress up for the occasion.
Knott's Scary Farm
Knott's Scary Farm is what Knott's Berry Farm turns into during Halloween season. This "Scary" farm is in Buena Park, California (just outside of L.A.), and is one of the scariest and most thrilling attractions in the country. They have more than nine terrifying mazes that will have your heart pumping at every turn. These mazes include everything from scary clowns, to the paranormal, and even a twisted tooth fairy. Don't say we didn't warn you!
