The Halloween Costumes You’ll Be Seeing EVERYWHERE in 2021

You might not believe it, but the arrival of September means that Halloween is right around the corner. It'll be here before you know it, which is why you should start thinking about your costumes now!

And since Halloween 2020 was a bit of a bust because of the state of the world, we're expecting people to go all out for Halloween 2021. Keep reading for the costumes we expect to see everywhere this year, and why they're so iconic.

Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn costumes have been a Halloween staple ever since the release of The Suicide Squad in 2016, and with the way her movies are going, we don't think the trend is going to end any time soon. In fact, we think 2021's Harleys are going to be as cute and creative as ever because this year's The Suicide Squad had her best outfits yet.

Olivia Rodrigo in 'Good 4 U'

Olivia Rodrigo has quickly cemented herself as one of the best young singer-songwriters in the industry with her debut album SOUR, and we think she's going to inspire a lot of folks to dress as her this year. While our favorite Olivia-themed costume has to be her cheerleader outfit from the "Good 4 U" music video, we're ready to see people get creative.

Loki

Loki's been an absurdly popular character for more than a decade at this point, but there's no denying that his Disney+ series has made him even more of a fan favorite. Prepare to see every imaginable type of Loki this year, from Tom Hiddleston's iconic look to classic Loki, Sylvie and everything in between. Of course, we'll grant the most points to the alligator Lokis out there.

Beth Harmon

The Queen's Gambit was released in late October of last year, which definitely wasn't enough time for most new fans to pull together their Beth Harmon costumes in time for the big holiday. This year, though, they'll be prepared, and we think Beth's exquisite '60s style will be all over the place.

Emily Cooper

If you love the chic Parisian fashion on display in Netflix's Emily in Paris, why not wear something similar for a themed Halloween costume? You might even be able to throw it together with items from your own closet. Just add a beret to finish off the look.

Grogu

Can you believe that last Halloween, we didn't even know that "The Child" from The Mandalorian was named Grogu? A lot has changed since then, but our love for the tiny Jedi hasn't. He may be just over a foot tall, which can make a direct costume translation a little difficult, but we don't think that'll stop most fans from getting creative with it.

Lady Alcina Dimitrescu

This year, Resident Evil Village's nine-foot vampiric countess won hearts everywhere, and we don't blame those who spent extra time "fleeing" her grasp in her castle in order to spend more time with the beloved character. With her enormous wide-brimmed hat, draped evening dress and imposing stature, she's a beautiful character who's made a lasting impression, and we think she'll be sticking around for a while.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish is one of the biggest musical stars on the planet right now, so there's no doubt we'll be seeing Billie costumes all over the place come October. While she's been sporting a slightly different look lately, as evidenced with her Happier Than Ever album cover, we think her signature black-and-green hair and ensemble will still be the go-to this Halloween.

Scarlet Witch

Wanda Maximoff went from playing second-fiddle in the big Marvel movies to being an icon in her own right with the release of WandaVision on Disney+ earlier this year, and her Scarlet Witch costume may be the best outfit in the entire MCU. Expect to see all kinds of variations on her look in the coming weeks.

The Ever Given

Last but not least, would this list even be complete without a topical costume? A container ship called the Ever Given captivated people around the world when it got caught in the Suez Canal earlier this year, delaying international trade for six days. Even though that was all the way back in March, it's still on people's minds, and we think that'll be reflected on Halloween.
