Practice a Little Spooky Self-Care With These Halloween Releases From Lush
With the weather getting chillier and the sun going down earlier with each passing day, fall makes it the perfect season to participate in a bit of self-care.
Of course, some of us are more into the spooky side of autumn than the red, orange and gold, falling leaves side. If you're a Halloween fanatic through and through, Lush has you covered this year with some spooky bathtime delights. They were kind enough to send me some of their favorite Halloween-themed products of the season to try out for myself, and you're not going to want to miss out on them, either.
Monster Octopus Shower Jelly: $13.95
I've used Lush Shower Jellies in the past, but never one that was actually shaped like a monstrous five-tentacled octopus, making this an entirely new experience. It looks pretty unassuming in its little clear pot, but once you pull it out, those legs unfurl and you're ready for a unique bathtime experience.
First and foremost, this jelly smells incredible. Passion fruit and blackcurrant combine to make a tart and fruity scent that's out of this world, and that you'll want to slather all over yourself. This jelly also left my skin feeling soft and clean thanks to carrageenan (granting the jelly its signature wobble). If there's one downside, it's that the jelly can be a bit fragile, and mine lost a tentacle after a single shower. While these do have a tendency to fall apart, they're no less fun to use during your daily cleanse, and they last a while.

Punkin Pumpkin Bath Bomb: $6.95
I'm used to Lush bath bombs having very vibrant fruit, candy and floral scents, so I was very curious to find out what this jack-o-lantern-shaped Punkin Pumpkin Bath Bomb would smell like. I discovered that the scent was a bit delicate, combining real pumpkin with cinnamon and lime to create a slightly warming fragrance that's not quite PSL, but still ultra-relaxing and delicious.
If you want this bath mostly for the color, you won't be disappointed. The rich orange and yellow fizz it generates make for a luxurious experience as the scent fills your nose, with the whole bomb eventually dissolving into a transparent yet deep rusty red color. The pumpkin powder in the bomb also left my skin feeling smooth and nourished.

Ghostie Bath Bomb: $6.95
I'm not exaggerating when I say that I believe this Ghostie bath bomb is the prettiest bath bomb I've ever seen dissolve. When I dropped it in a full tub, it started foaming with streams of gorgeous pink and blue, mixed with white. The colors were way better than I imagined based on the small amount of pink and blue visible from the outside of the bomb—and the fact that the bomb also crackled and popped with popping candy just added to the experience.
As it dissolved, it first dyed the water a gorgeous periwinkle color. With the rest of the white the last to dissolve, that eventually turned to a very opaque and stunning cornflower blue. It was gorgeous and seriously made me not want to get out of the bath. It only helped that it smelled phenomenal with its citrus blend of lemongrass, Sicilian lemon oil and Persian lime oil, and that it felt incredibly nourishing, too.

Alien Bubble Bar: $8.95
If you're more into bubble baths than a deep soak with a bath bomb, Lush has exactly what you're looking for—especially if you're still into vibrant colors and bold scents. This Alien bubble bar is the perfect intersection of both with its bright shade of green and citrus scent made up of bergamot and litsea cubeba.
I personally like to break up bubble bars into smaller chunks to use them up over multiple baths, and just a fifth of this bar gave me loads of decadent bubbles and E.T.-worthy lime green water, with all the scent I needed to perk myself right up while by skin was softened by its soothing ingredients. It was a delight, and I love that I still have many baths ahead of me from this single bar.

Screamo Bubble Blower: $13.95
Last but not least is the Screamo bubble blower, a bubble bar on a stick that doubles as a fabulous bubble wand. I simply had to hold it under the running water for the top of the tub to become coated in a layer of thick bubbles, and for the water beneath it to turn an opaque purple-black. Though the strong black licorice-like smell won't be for everyone, I adored it, and I had even more fun blowing massive bubbles through the screaming mouth once I was satisfied with the amount in the tub. I will say the purple on this bar can get a bit messy, so prepare yourself beforehand with a good place for it to dry off between uses. Or, you can simply break pieces off of it—but don't forget to try out the bubble-blowing before you destroy the mouth!
