You NEED to Try Halo Top’s Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream

I have a major sweet tooth. Not a night goes by where I'm not craving chocolate or ice cream.

And yes, I'm aware it's a problem, but for the most part, I've learned to control my cravings. However, when it does get the best of me, I always find myself reaching for something loaded with sugar, and it only leads to a crash later on and a feeling of regret. That's why I've been super into better-for-you desserts where you don't face too much guilt. So when Halo Top reached out and asked if I'd like to try out their Pumpkin Pie flavor, I jumped at the chance. Look below for my full review and taste test!

The Brand

Ice cream lovers can rejoice to know that Halo Top's pints are all super low calorie when compared to traditional ice cream. The brand refers to itself as "light ice cream," with 280 to 380 calories per pint. Yes, you read that right—not per serving, but for the whole dang pint. With yummy flavors like cookie dough and sea salt caramel, as well as fruit pops and chocolate bars, there's so much deliciousness to go around. Plus, the brand also has some dairy-free and keto options!

The Ice Cream

Pumpkin Pie

I'm a sucker for anything seasonal, especially when it comes to dessert. And when pumpkin season rolls around? I'm a goner. From PSLs to pumpkin bread, pumpkin granola (which I make from scratch) and more, I love it all. And when I opened the package from Halo Top with two pumpkin pie pints, I couldn't wait to dig in.

Before I get into the taste test, I think it's important to point out the nutrition facts. With just 360 calories in the entire pint, it's far better for you than normal ice cream. The pint also has 18 grams of protein and 72 carbs—which is honestly great when you compare it to a brand like Ben & Jerry's.

After putting the pints in the freezer for a few hours to firm up, I took one out and grabbed a spoon. My boyfriend said I should get a bowl, but I was too excited and ate straight from the carton. Even just putting my spoon into the ice cream, I could already notice the difference compared to traditional ice cream. This one seemed lighter, almost whipped and fluffier.

But the real test came when I brought the spoon to my mouth and took my first bite. My tastebuds were immediately met with the most delicious of pumpkin pie flavors. I could pick out the hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, with a slight bite from the salt. It was creamy and met all my expectations. My sweet tooth was satisfied after just a few bites, but I had an idea to make the experience even better.

The next time I went to the grocery store, I picked up some graham crackers. And when I got home, I crushed them up and mixed them with a bowl of the pumpkin pie ice cream. When I tell you my jaw dropped after taking my first bite, I'm not even exaggerating. And while it added more calories, I truly didn't even care!

Bottom Line

If you're a sucker for pumpkin pie, I couldn't recommend Halo Top's Pumpkin Pie ice cream enough. It's available in most grocery stores and is sure to be a family favorite. Plus, at just a few dollars for a pint, you truly can't go wrong!
