Pop sensation Haven Madison has come a long way since we were first introduced to her as a finalist on Season 21 of American Idol.

The 18-year-old singer-songwriter has been making waves with her irresistible debut EP, Turn Off All the Lights," which was released in April. Now, with her Live From My Childhood Classroom sessions, she's demonstrating her prowess as a performer yet again with live renditions of her biggest songs—recorded from where she was homeschooled in her childhood "classroom." The first video in the series is for her megahit "Kiss the Ground." The Story Behind 'Kiss the Ground'

Haven Madison: During the time of writing this song and honestly the entire EP, I was in a blooming season. I was finding my voice, my message and my confidence through it all. This song was my empowerment anthem, because I decided that no matter what, I want to always be remembered as a hard worker who earned my place.

What 'Kiss the Ground' Means

HM: The song taught me to not focus on where I was or where I'm going, but instead on the steps I'm taking in between. Moving with confidence and power that I am capable, and anyone who says I'm not can kiss the ground 😉

Haven's Favorite Lyric

HM: "You want the fashion I wear, want the wave in my hair, you don't wanna climb the stairs that got me there."

On the Live From My Childhood Classroom Series

HM: I owe so much of my success in music to my family and my roots. I grew up homeschooled, taught by my mom, and lived on and off the tour bus with my family, so music was engraved in my life. This series is in what used to be my childhood "classroom," where I learned, loved, messed up, fixed it and made music about it all. This series is just a fun portrayal of how the music is made and makes me feel.
