PREMIERE: Hayden Summerall Makes an Epic Return to Music With New Track ‘Nothin’ to Lose’
We've been following actor and singer-songwriter Hayden Summerall for years, and with the release of his first new music in four years in the form of "Nothin' to Lose," it's clear the star is all grown up.
The artist's new love song is upbeat and uplifting, with just a hint of acoustic country twang, as he sings about a love that's his everything. The track officially drops tomorrow, but Sweety High has the exclusive on the summery new music video today. Check out the vid here first, before you can see it anywhere else, and keep reading for the inside scoop on the track and video from Hayden himself.
The Story Behind 'Nothin' to Lose'
Hayden Summerall: Yes, it is based on a real love story. What inspired me to write this song is all the times when I've thought about the crazy memories I've had. In particular, there's always the car rides in between those crazy memories where the music's loud, windows down and I feel on top of the world, in a place with the people I love. Those moments to me are more important than anything materialistic, so I wanted to create a story about that to share with the world.

What 'Nothin' to Lose' Means
HS: The song means a lot to me because I haven't released a song since 2019 when I was 14, and I've grown and matured a lot and I really feel like I'm growing into the artist I wanna be. I hope the fans see I'm really trying to stick to my roots and be an authentic artist and create music everyone can relate to.

Hayden's Favorite Lyric
HS: In the first verse it says, "I could be on a beach, toes in the sand, sippin' something sweet, no worries and little bit of fresh air or I could live in house up in the hills with a view all around but if I lost it all I just wouldn't care." I love that lyric because, at the end of the day, you can have everything, but none of it matters if you don't have human connection, love and relationships.
There's a lot of negativity in this world and I wanted to create a song that gave my fans and whoever listens a breath of fresh air.
On the Music Video
HS: The concept of the music video was a young couple and friends that are enjoying all the little things in life that we have while being young and in love, but not taking things too seriously. My favorite memory was honestly probably half-way through the shoot. The whole cast and crew (all my friends) decided to take a little break and float in the lake for a little bit. It was so fun relaxing and soaking up those little simple moments in life that can easily be taken for granted.

What's Next
HS: I have tons of songs lined up and ready to get out for everybody and I'm also trying to get an EP/album together for the new year. Stay tuned!
Final Thoughts
HS: The track was written back in 2021 and we have been sitting on it for a while now. Life happens, but we are here and finally all ready! And just so you know, it's only the beginning!
