HeForShe Event Recruits Emma Watson!

Harry Potter star Emma Watson is set to co-host an event for the UN Women HeForShe campaign!

HeForShe is a new campaign that calls upon men to support women for the good of everyone. It aims to raise awareness that it's everyone's duty to protect women's rights, and mobilize a billion males by having them advocate to end inequality between men and women around the world.

Inequality is a human rights issue that doesn't just affect women. Men and boys are half of the story of women's rights. Everyone can benefit from gender equality.

The event will take place on September 20, 2014 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, and in addition to Emma, will feature experts on gender, government and United Nations officials, as well as celebrities.

Emma Watson was named the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in July, and it will be incredible to see her champion this new cause! We bet her involvement will get many fans of both genders onboard!

The event also takes place the day before National Women's Friendship Day. We feel like this is a great opportunity to spread the word about women's equality, and be a great friend to the ladies in your life!
