6 Reasons Why Homecoming Is the Best School Dance of the Year
Ah, homecoming. The first dance of the school year and—in our humble opinion—the best of the school year.
In case you question our declaration, we've got six reasons why we believe it's the dance of all dances, so keep scrolling below to find out what they are.

1. It Sets the Tone for the Rest of Your Year
Homecoming is the first pinnacle event of the school year, so it sets the precedence for all that is to come. You want to start the year off on a high note, which means attending this dance is a must.
2. It's (Usually) Casual
Sometimes homecoming is a dance where you have to dress up a little bit nicer than usual, but more often than not, it's a casual event. No need to spend over a thousand dollars on a dress you're only going to wear for a few hours.

3. The Theme
Sure, every school dance you go to will have a unique theme, but usually that doesn't really matter because you'll be dressed in a gown. With homecoming though, you can use the theme of the evening to decide on the perfect costume to wear. Don't be afraid to go all out in a whacky getup with your besties.
4. No Date Is Necessary
With prom and winter formal, you feel the need to go with a date. And if you can't find a guy or a girl to go with, chances are you will opt out of attending all together. But with homecoming you can go stag and it's not the end of the world. So grab your squad and hit the dance floor like nobody's watching.

5. You'll Care About Your School's Football Team
You might not know the difference between a running back and a quarterback, but this is the one game all year you'll find worthy of attending. It's where Homecoming Queen and King are announced, and, if you're a part of the winning team, it's a grand ol' time. Dress in your school colors and support your fellow athletes.
6. Everyone Has a Positive Attitude
Major drama always unfolds on prom night, but that rarely ever happens during homecoming. The school is still so fresh and everyone has a carefree attitude, simply there to have a good time. No drama allowed!
