5 Ways to Avoid Stressing Out This Back-to-School Season
Back-to-school season is in full force, meaning so is all of the stress that can come along with it.
While it's a super exciting time, it's also important to make sure you're taking some time to relax and not get overwhelmed with so much on your plate. To make things easier, here are some ways to avoid stressing out this back to school season:

1. Start a Morning Routine
Having a morning routine, especially a healthy one that involves some stretching and skincare, is a great way to start your day off on a good foot. Not only that, but it sets you up on a regular schedule that will help you wake up on time and be ready for whatever you may face when you get to class.
2. Plan Your Outfits in Advance
There's no easier way to start stressing than sleeping through your alarm and having to throw on the first clean thing you find in your closet. Whether you lay it out the night before or simply start planning it in your head, having an outfit in mind for the next day saves you vital time in the morning and prevents any last-minute panics. In general, planning and staying organized is a great way to avoid the stress of a new school year, as you can read HERE.
3. Schedule Fun Activities With Friends
So much is going on in that time zone between the last precious days of summer and the first few weeks of classes that it can become difficult to see your friends in between it all, especially if your class schedules are all different. By setting aside time for specific activities with friends, even if it's just having a movie and snack night at one of your houses, you won't have to worry about losing touch or letting the stress of school keep you from seeing them. If you're staying in, try baking something you found on Pinterest or have a themed sleepover. If you're going somewhere else, try switching it up from the usual movie night and find somewhere interesting like a trampoline park or cooking class.

4. Get Enough Sleep
When your sleep schedule is off, so are you. While it can be tempting to stay up late texting your best friend (or just binge-watching Netflix), setting your phone aside and getting to bed at a decent time is so important to your overall mental and physical health. Eight hours is the goal, but the most important thing is trying to get yourself on a normal schedule to help keep the back to school stress at bay.

5. Plan Your Meals Ahead of Time
Cafeteria food is one thing most of us don't miss while we're away from school, but it's so important to eat a proper breakfast and lunch in order to avoid unnecessary stress and stay healthy. Try meal prepping a few lunches that you can easily pack up in the morning without it taking too much time, and there even some breakfast recipes you can make the night before in order to save you precious snooze time in the morning.
