How to Perfect Your Foodie Instagram

Whether we want to admit it or not, we're all guilty of taking pictures of our food at restaurants.

If you're the type who considers yourself a major "foodie" or simply have a bunch of yummy recipes you'd love to share, you might want to consider creating your very own Insta page dedicated entirely to food. Not sure where to get started? Follow these quick tips to create the perfect and most delicious-looking food Insta that will make everyone hungry for more!

1. Focus on the Aesthetic

If you're serious about your blog and want to gain traction, it's important to make sure your blog is aesthetically pleasing! Investing in a proper set-up is priority No. 1, and we recommend using a combination of unique bowls and plates, a high-quality camera (even if it's just the one in your phone) and a specific table or background for all of your images to make everything look cohesive as well as stunning.

2. Time Management is Key

Food blogging isn't as easy as it looks, and creating a schedule is necessary if you want to be successful on social media. Whether you want to be a full-time food blogger or it's something you'd prefer doing on the side, breaking down your week and figuring out when you want to post, what ingredients you'll need to prep and how long each recipe will take you to make is the key for staying on top of your page and keeping people invested! A schedule also lets your audience know when to check in on your page, and the more reliable you are, the happier they'll be.

3. Engagement

Making time throughout the week to engage with your followers, reach out to other accounts and comment and like all the comments you get on your posts is a great way to grow your follower count. Being sure to utilize relevant hashtags anytime you post will ensure that people outside of your current followers are able to discover your account. At least once a week, you should also post an interactive story for your followers, keeping people engaged and wanting more.

4. Keep It Unique

Authenticity is key when creating a food page. The food you post should look amazing and consist of all of the stuff that you love to eat yourself. Keeping your pictures unique from each other helps, too! Change up the recipes you post so they're individual and diverse, and avoid repeats whenever possible. While it can be helpful to check out other pages on Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration, also be sure you don't rip anyone off, and always put your own twist on your creations.

5. Details, Details, Details

It's all in the details! Adding garnish such as mint, rosemary or even orange peels to your plate is a great way to elevate the look of any recipe. You know you're at a fancy restaurant when the sauce is aesthetically placed on your plate, so why not get creative with how you dress your own food to can really catch people's attention?

And the details are just important when it comes to the look and feel of your feed. Behind-the-scenes footage can be fun for your followers, and also make you an important part of the equation in the popularity of your food page. A couple of reels a week can be great for putting yourself in front of your audience while growing your following and making your feed extra fun.
