How to Start Feeling Like The Main Character of Your Own Life

In case you haven't heard, "main character energy" is a thing.

After all, pretty much every movie, book or TV show has a main character, and we as the viewers and readers most often see things through their eyes. But what exactly is this main character energy, and more importantly, how can we all start feeling like the main character of our own lives? Well, we have a few ideas:

First, Understanding the Feeling

You may have felt some pretty solid main character vibes before without realizing it, but when you do realize it, you can start embracing this positive energy more often and create simply magical moments out of nothing. It's not so much that it feels like everything is revolving around you, but more like you're exactly where you need to be, when you need to be there. That doesn't mean it's always something big or dramatic, it can even be as simple as staring out the window when it's raining. It's just recognizing that you are a powerful person that has an impact and that you are doing your best, whatever that may mean for you. With that said, feeling like the main character of your own life is easier than you may think. In fact, it can be as simple as:

Staying in the Moment

Feeling present, whether you're at a major concert you've been looking forward to or simply having a great time hanging out with your friends, is key to embracing this main character energy we all so desire. Things you can do include eating slower in order to really appreciate the texture and flavor of your food and just enjoying the feeling of everyday things, even things you once considered terrible chores like washing the dishes or making your bed.

Enjoying the Little Things

You don't even have to go out of your way to enjoy the little things in life. This is a great thing for becoming more positive overall, and let's be real, most main characters seem to be pretty big optimists. Try looking for all the little beautiful things that are around you, whether that be some really gorgeous flowers or just an extra-amazing sunset.

Romanticizing Your Own Life

Mainly, feeling like the main character comes from romanticizing everything about your life. Think about the way your favorite author describes their characters: the smile that creeps across their face when doing something they enjoy, the way others speak about them and their kindness or just how their hair falls across their face when they're flustered. All the tiny things that other people probably notice about you that make you beautiful inside and out? Yeah, start thinking those things about yourself. Confidence is key, always.
