How You Act During Freshman Year of High School, Based on Your Zodiac Sign

Regardless of how you deal with things, there's no arguing across the board that freshman year of high school is a challenge.

You're instantly thrown into a mix of hundreds of unfamiliar faces, challenging classes and a maze of a campus you're somehow expected to plow through with ease. Dances are suddenly of utmost importance, and there's a new pressure to go out on weekends. What is this life?

That said, depending on what time of year you were born, you have a different way of attacking this monster known as the first year of high school. Keep reading to find out how you act during freshman year, based on your zodiac sign!

Aries (March 21 – April 19): You Get Involved in Every School Activity Imaginable

From running for freshman class prez, to trying out for every sport under the sun, active Aries, you are not about to sit back and let freshman year fly under the radar. You treat this year like you would any other—you dive in head first. And your ambition doesn't go unnoticed. The way you confidently take on traditionally challenging situations in this grade helps you get accepted pretty quickly by fellow leaders in older grades.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): You Don't Use This Year as an Excuse to Mess Up

Don't get us wrong, Taurus—you love to have a good time as much as the next person. But, your practical nature keeps you from falling to the wayside. You know how easy it is for anyone to mess up freshman year, and you refuse to let it happen to you. You're not necessarily on a mission to get straight As, but you're also not going to do anything (academically or behaviorally) that will end up coming back to haunt you down the line. Balance is key to you, and it's totally apparent by your actions.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20): You Work Hard, Play Hard

Well, Gemini, when it comes to freshman year, this is where your dual personalities actually come to the rescue, whereas sometimes it can be difficult to balance the two. You've got your playful, fun side, which inspires you to socialize and make new friends—but you also have your serious, restless side, which has you angsty and focused on your schoolwork. Being able to work hard and play hard during your freshman year is key, given how easy it is to do the complete opposite of both during this time.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): You Feel Emotionally Overwhelmed

Freshman year is tough for you, fragile Cancer. You're suddenly thrown into a school with double the number of people as you've experienced recently, all while taking on challenging courses and trying to find yourself. While some people have the ability to dive in head first without a second thought, you have way too much going on in your head to just waltz through the year like it ain't no thing. This year will likely be a bit challenging, but things will smooth out soon enough and you'll get the hang of this complicated thing called high school.

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22): You Have Your Sights Set on Someone in a Higher Grade

Leo, you are the queen of the zodiac. Your confidence is pretty remarkable, even for a measly lil' freshman. You step out of the house on your first day of freshman year, ready to conquer the school. You'll stop at nothing to ensure all eyes are on you—including those of the older kids. Your lack of intimidation by other students draws a slew of potential suitors, but as life would have it, you'll also attract your fair share of female haters. But it doesn't really faze you. Let 'em be jealous.

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept 22): Studying Is Your Priority

Focused Virgo, it doesn't matter whether it's freshman year or senior year, you never slack in your studies. You recognize that every year is one step closer to graduation (aka, one step closer to adult life), and every inch of the process counts. You're not one to be affected by FOMO, as your priorities lie in your future. You know that if you work your butt off now, you'll eventually be living the life of your dreams, while your hard-partying classmates will struggle to catch up with you.

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22): You're Unfazed

While some people are thrilled about new beginnings brought on by freshman year, and other people are taunted by the idea of change, you, Libra, somehow maintain a neutral stance throughout the whole experience. Your laidback nature allows you to blend in nicely with people of all grades. The lack of pressure you put on yourself during this trying year helps you glide through effortlessly.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21): You Stay Close to Your Middle School Friends

Scorpio, as you mature and grow over the course of high school, you'll likely branch out and make new friends, but freshman year isn't the time. You're a creature of habit, a sign that relies heavily on structure and familiarity—and during a time as chaotic and life-changing as this, your only sense of sanity and comfort lies in your tight-knit inner circle from middle school. Your small but mighty squad has been strong from the start, and as someone who strongly values close friendship, having your OG group is the key to an otherwise uncomfortable year.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21): You Make New Friends Easily

Sag, you are independent, fun-loving, outdoorsy and friendly—making you a shoo-in for new friends freshman year. Whether it's a transfer student in your grade, or someone a year or two older, your spontaneity and thirst for travel and adventure attracts people to you. Whether it's hiking after class or camping on the weekend, you're always down for whatever, and people love that about you.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19): You Keep to Yourself

Let's face it, Cap: Freshman year is a lot. While some of your peers are off basking in #highschoollife, you're more content focusing on yourself. You keep a pretty well-managed schedule, making sure to fit in plenty of studying, fitness and "me time," with minimal social time. It's not that you're antisocial, per-se—it's more that you're incredibly responsible, and the minute you feel like you're slacking at life in the slightest, you shut it down and get back to business.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18): You Get Involved With Clubs

Your imaginative mind never slows down, Aquarius. You're constantly creating and envisioning. Jumping straight into clubs your freshman year gives you an opportunity to bounce ideas off of others and let your creative juices flow. Whether it's French Club, Photo Club, Yearbook or something else, you'll never turn down an opportunity to enhance your general knowledge.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20): You Comfort Your Struggling Friends

Pisces, you put everyone before you. You're always there to lend a helping hand and you never expect anything in return. When you see some of your friends having a difficult time getting through freshman year, you're the first to drop everything to ensure they're okay. You have the ability to shift the focus from how you're doing to how they're doing. While your selflessness is truly admirable, don't forget to do things for yourself from time to time.
