Experience a Different Side of Tegan Marie in Her New Song ‘I Don’t Know What Is’
Since the release of "Horses" last month, we've been holding our breath, waiting for new music from Tegan Marie.
Today, our wish finally came true. In a very Ariana Grande-esque move, Tegan released yet another catchy song. The latest in a line of songs that have us totally in love with the country singer, "I Don't Know What Is" reveals a different side of Tegan that fans haven't seen before.
In the new song, Tegan pays homage to her hometown and the country roots that made her who she is. "It's a way of life," Tegan explained to Radio Disney Country. "We're influenced by the city and the country, so I really wanted to write a song that shows what growing up there was all about."
Written in conjunction with Nathan Chapman, Nelly Joy and Jason Reeves, "I Don't Know What Is" allows Tegan to reflect on her roots, and give her fans some insight into her background in the process.
Throughout the song, Tegan paints a picture of a childhood spent outside, playing, getting dirty and embracing the pace of a slow country life. It's obvious she loves the "4-8-5-0-6" and that her genuine country background strongly influences her life and her music, today.
Be sure to stream the song on all digital platforms today if you want to see a new side of our fave country cutie.
