We Achieved Celeb-Level Curls With This Simple Styling Tool

Another day, another hair woes post.

As I've mentioned a number of times, I have thick, coarse, curly hair—and not the kind of waves that look fresh from the salon.

From day one, my mane has always been, for lack of a better phrase, "a hairy situation." Additionally, I have an array of scars on my neck from the lovely burns caused by various heated hair tools.

But my hair game finally changed in a major way just the other day when I tried InStyler's Cerasilk Curling Iron. Yep, just like that, I was able to achieve those enviable Blake Lively-level locks (sans welts!).

I stumbled upon the product during a web browse, and based on its innovative concept, I reached out to the brand to see if they'd send me an iron for review. Prior to receiving the product, I'd been using the same standard iron for the past year and a half. The iron doesn't have a clamp, so I'd have to put my hands all over that thing to keep the hopeful curls in place.

I was drawn to InStyler's product because not only does it come with a built-in heat protectant, but the tip features silicone bristles that gently hold sections of hair to allow for easy, hands-free wrapping. Once wrapped, the cool tip enables you to safely secure the barrel while locking in the style. I've never seen anything like this before.

Not only does the product live up to its promise, but I'm additionally wowed by how easy it is to simply pull the iron away from my head and have sections of hair flip into the picture-perfect wave. I don't want to brag, but come on, look how awesome my curls look in the photo below.

Okay, so Blake still has better hair than me (or probably anyone), but for not coming fresh from a blowout, I'm totally on board with the way this curling iron works. Oh, and did I mention how quickly I achieved this look? We're talking 15 minutes. Obviously the shorter strands in the back still proved challenging to wrap about the iron, but otherwise, this product has totally saved the day!
