Jessika the Prankster on the Power of Pranks and Her New In My Feelings Journal
Jessika the Prankster is a hilarious creator best known for the pranks she plays on her mom, Mama Redd, and with millions upon millions of followers across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and more, it's clear her content strikes home with people.
She uses pranks as a way to connect with people and help them through tough times, and now, she plans to continue to be an advocate for youth wellness with her new book, the In My Feelings Journal. This unique journal is designed specifically for teens, giving helpful prompts and daily affirmations to help us all help ourselves, and we love its inspiring message. We even got to ask Jessika herself all about it in the interview below.
Sweety High: What inspired you to start making pranking videos? Did you ever see yourself getting as popular as you have for those videos?
Jessika the Prankster: I had just met my foster mom, and one day I pranked her. After the first video, I decided to keep making them because it brought us closer. I had no idea the very first video would get the attention of millions of people. It went viral overnight. I was so shocked.

SH: Do you have a favorite prank ever that you did on your mom?
Jessika: One time I pretended to get bullied by some girls. I gave myself a black eye and also had blood on my face. I was so proud of the graphic makeup I did! My mom wanted me to take her to the girls. She wanted to defend me.
SH: What made you decide to switch gears and become an advocate for youth wellness? Do you think that your prankster past and this new adventure for you have any threads in common?
Jessika: I would always get DMs from kids all over. They would say I helped them from committing suicide, or I helped them put a smile on their face. They are similar because I am helping people. Both the journal and the pranks are an outlet for people to share their emotions.
SH: Why is helping people with their mental health so important to you?
Jessika: I remember when I didn't have anyone to talk to. I wanted to provide that for them. I also have had therapy, and it helped me. My goal is always to help kids and other people.
SH: What was the inspiration behind the In My Feelings wellness journal? What do you think is the most critical skill people will learn while using the journal?
Jessika: I was bored when I wrote on blank pages in different journals. I didn't even know where to start half of the time. I needed direction. In My Feelings is a great guide that helps you with your everyday feelings. People will really learn how to communicate while using this journal.

SH: Are you an active journaler yourself? In what ways has that been therapeutic for you?
Jessika: I have always written things down on paper, but my attention would be very short because I didn't know how to express myself. With In My Feelings, it is like a guide that helps you every step of the way.
SH: Do you have any journaling tips for someone just getting started?
Jessika: Be honest about your feelings. Write down what you are really feeling. And tell someone.
SH: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Jessika: There are even resources and hotline numbers in the journal. I really wanted to help people overcome whatever problems they were facing.
