Everything You Wanted to Know About Actress and Producer Julia Garcia

17-year-old star Julia Garcia is the definition of a triple threat, from being a classically trained ballerina to her work as an actress and producer.

Julia, who's of Cuban and Filipino descent, started acting when she was just 5 years old and is probably best known for playing Emmy Mendoza on Disney Channel's Sydney to the Max, in addition to roles on Station 19, S.W.A.T., Fresh Off the Boat and more. She's also been featured in more than 20 national commercial campaigns, but she doesn't just love appearing in front of the camera, but behind it as well, producing short films Abuelo and Sharing the Floor over the last couple of years. 1. Julia's surprisingly very good at playing pool.

"Sports were never really my thing, but growing up with my older brother, we'd always play one-on-one. I'm not quite a 'pool shark,' but I'm not too shabby."

"Just hearing their laughter puts a smile on my face. Seeing acts of kindness, whether big or small, always brings a smile to my face because it reminds me of the goodness in people. But ultimately you'll see a smile on my face if my song starts playing or a song comes on unexpectedly that brings back a fond memory. If you know me then you know how much fun I have listening to music in the car."

3. She recently started collected perfume.

"I love beautiful scents that spark a feeling or a memory. I was able to work with a perfumer in Paris recently and that was pretty amazing to detect the composition. But I really collect perfume for the pretty bottles."

4. Her favorite weather is warm and comfortable.

"I love springtime because the temperature is mostly mild, which makes it perfect to be outdoors. The blooming flowers and greenery make me happy and I love the longer days and sunlight. Springtime is perfect weather."

"I always find myself switching between Bridgerton and Gilmore Girls during the holiday season. New Girl and Grey's Anatomy are my all-time classic guilty pleasure."

"When it comes to the people in my life, the best help I can give is to give true reassurance and to keep what I say honest and real. I'm a very direct person and people come to me because I'll give them my honest thoughts."

7. If she could travel anywhere in the world for a week, she'd want to visit Southeast Asia.

"I've been blessed to have traveled to many countries, but I have yet to explore Southeast Asia. Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines are definitely on my bucket list. I'm half Filipino, so going to the Philippines with my family would be truly special."

8. She says she would have loved to be a '90s girl.

"The fashion and the movies speak to my heart. It was the golden age of music and iconic bands that defined the era. The simplicity of life with no phones or social media allowed people to be more present in their lives. It seems like the perfect decade."
