Justine Skye Gushes About Her Love for the New It’s a 10 Haircare Coily Collection

Justine Skye knows better than anyone that not all haircare products work for all hair types.

The singer-songwriter, rapper, model and actress is a musical phenomenon who released a new album called Space & Time this summer, and she knows a thing or two about treating her coily, voluminous hair. She's well aware she can't just throw any product into her hair and expect great results, which is why she's the face of the new It's a 10 haircare Coily Collection. These unique and nourishing products are made just for her skin type, and she told us all about the new collab and why It's a 10 works so well for her.

Sweety High: Why did a collaboration with It's a 10 Haircare feel like such a perfect fit for you? How does their mission align with yours?

Justine Skye: I am so excited for the opportunity to work with It's A 10 Haircare to launch their new Coily Miracle collection. I had always been a fan of their products and loved that the company is run by such a powerful female business mogul like Carolyn Aronson. I'm all about women running things, so partnering with a female-founded and owned company was big for me.

SH: What does it mean to you to be their first celeb ambassador?

JS: It's huge! Hair is such a big part of my everyday life, so finding a brand I aligned with in this category was exciting. Not only that, but being part of such an iconic brand makes it even better. When you find something you like, you just want to tell everybody, so I'm so glad I get to do that with It's A 10 Haircare.

SH: Why is the Coily Miracle Collection so great for textured hair? What are some of your favorite ways to incorporate those products into your routine?

JS: When It's A 10 shared that they were launching a collection specifically targeted towards my hair type, that was a wrap—I had to get involved. I'm actually working right now to nurse my natural curls back to health. With so many photo and video shoots to promote my new album, Space & Time, my hair has been through a lot. So with products specifically aimed at hair health and moisturizing, the Coily line has been a literal miracle. I was trying a ton of crazy DIY tricks before getting my hands on this collection, and let me just say this is working 10 times better!

SH: What are some of your go-to It's 10 products, and why do you love them so much?

JS: Since I'm on a curl health journey, I have been loving the It's A 10 Coily Miracle Mask. I just put it on my hair after I shampoo, let it sit in there for a couple of minutes before rinsing and my hair has never felt smoother. I do this a couple of times a week.

My other favorite is the Coily Miracle Leave-In. It gives my hair a finished look, lays down any flyaways or frizz I have, and makes my hair feel so moisturized without feeling greasy.

SH: Why is it so important for women with textured hair to use the right products?

JS: Haircare, like many things, is not one size fits all. It's so important that brands are recognizing this and creating formulas that are tailored towards a wider range of hair types. Having options in hair and many other beauty categories is a stepping stone in the right direction of inclusivity, and I'm so glad to be part of that with It's A 10.
