Marbl Founder Kamila Zhaxylykova Discusses the Mission Behind Her Stylish Pieces
With its gorgeous minimalist and contemporary styles, Marbl stands out among our favorite fashion brands of today, and there's even more to Marbl than immediately meets the eye.
Marbl is special for a few reasons, and they all begin with founder Kamila Zhaxylykova. With its sleek styles, designed to be flattering on bodies of all shapes and sizes, the brand also has an eco-friendly and sustainable focus, inspired by Kamila's environmentalist sister, with 70% of their fabrics sourced from natural, organic, regenerated or recycled fibers such as silk, linen and cotton. All pieces are also made-to-order, reducing waste, and the brand also emphasizes size inclusivity, with sizing from XXS to 4XL. As longtime fans, we just had to learn more, and Kamila was gracious enough to share her story as an entrepreneur with us in the interview below.

1. Kamila's obsession with style begins with how it makes her feel on a daily basis.
"The turning point for my style obsession was witnessing how a simple garment could empower me to embody my true self. I can go out without makeup or hair done, but if my outfit feels right and looks good, I am definitely feeling myself! So I realized how I loved this feeling of looking put together in a cute outfit and it makes me want to explore fashion even more."

2. Her personal style is influenced by her two moods:
"One, simple minimalistic loose fits and two, tight waist cinching fits. I really love watching celebrity stylists and their vision. They have access to the latest fits and it's always interesting to see how they style it. Access to visual inspiration is pretty easy now with social media, and I am definitely also unconsciously inspired by what I see on IG and TikTok. My current fave stylist is Dani Michelle."

3. Marbl was created with the mission of making something minimalist yet flattering that fits any body type and size.
"By making an extensive size range, I want to prove that everyone deserves to feel beautiful and snatched. I wanted to create an everyday wear that can be comfy and elegant at the same time."

4. Her family's care for the environment and animals is core to Marbl's dedication to sustainability.
"My sister is an environmentalist and she inspired me to be even more aware of current environmental issues and finding the right ways to avoid overconsumption and more ecological ways of living life and doing business. So it became a mission of mine to still pursue my dream and start a clothing brand, but also do my best in making this business as sustainable as I can. We are still not perfect, but we are working on it and improving our sustainable mission every quarter."

5. When she's in a rush, her go-to outfit is flare jeans, pointed heeled boots, a belt and a simple, body-hugging top.
6. Her favorite piece of advice came from someone close to her.
"The best advice I got from my boyfriend was to stay true to myself, trust my gut and stick to my values. He also told me to be patient, stay calm and not overreact to problems at work or in my personal life. This advice has really helped me handle things better."

7. Her favorite piece of clothing in her closet is Marbl's Ruffled Bell Sleeve Top in both Ivory & Black.

8. Her current favorite style trend is layering.
"Since I live in Dubai, where it's usually hot, I have rare occasions to wear coats, jackets, sweaters, scarves, etc. So every chance I get to travel this year, I love wrapping up for the cold to add some dimension to the outfit."

9. The one thing she wants people to know about her is her love of animals.
"I am a huge dog lover and have a lot of compassion for all the stray animals in the world. My Instagram and TikTok feed is 80% dogs, and the rest is fashion! I have a dream that I want to fulfill in the next few years, which is building my own shelter in my hometown. Why my hometown? Because it has the coldest winter, reaching up to -30° C, and one of the worst conditions for stray animals. I hope to make this dream come true when the time is right."
