Keith Urban Finds Home Within Himself in ‘Heart Like a Hometown’

Country star Keith Urban's 11th studio album, High, is set to release on Sep. 20, 2024, and we just got a warm and uplifting new taste of what's to come with his latest song, "Heart Like a Hometown."

The new, feel-good track dropped on Friday, Aug. 2, complete with a nostalgic visualizer slideshow taking us through Keith's musical history, from childhood family photos all the way to the modern day. It's the kind of thing that's sure to bring a tear to the eye of a lifelong fan.

The breezy, guitar-driven track is brimming with the sounds of summer as Keith Urban tells a story about finding a home away from home and creating a "hometown" of sorts within himself and with those he cares about the most.

"When I was a kid, our family moved around a lot," he shared in an Instagram post on Friday, Aug. 2. "For me, a 'hometown' has always felt more about my family and a place inside of me—somewhere I could find my center. 'HEART LIKE A HOMETOWN' is out now."

"Heart Like a Hometown" is just the latest of many singles off of High, joining "Messed Up As Me," "Straight Line," "GO HOME W U" featuring Lainey Wilson and "WILDSIDE." Together, they prove to create an eclectic collection of music, from energetic anthems to dreamy love songs and yearning breakup tracks, and everything in between.

"This album is the result of a prior record I started in 2022," he shared in a post on Instagram on June 27. "It's 40 minutes top to bottom, and is completely expressive, true, honest and is so much more of what I actually wanted to say when making that scrapped record. I hope these songs bring you joy, levity, some new understanding, energy, and escape!"
