Here’s How My Frizzy Hair Totally Transformed After This ONE Hair Treatment

I've said it once, and I'll say it again, I don't love my hair.

If it were up to me, I'd have hair that would dry fast, straight and—most importantly—with no frizz.

But, you know, we can't always get what we want in life, so we've got to cheat a little, go to the salon and have them give us the hair we've always envisioned in our dreams.

And that is just what I did.

This past weekend, I took my hair situation over to the Sally Hershberger salon in West Hollywood, California, and got myself a Keratin treatment—a process that puts protein back into your hair and says bye, bye to frizzy messes like the one below ????:

The Treatment

So what exactly is this keratin treatment?

As mentioned above, this therapy treatment adds keratin—the protein that makes up our hair—back into our hair. Overtime, we lose this protein due to both age and chemical damage from dying and over-processing.

My hair has had a rough life. It's endured everything from being bleached blonde to being thrown up in a split-end-inducing top bun on a regular basis.

Not only does this process rebuild damaged hair, it leaves your locks less frizzy, totally shiny and even reduces style time. Praise. ????

I figured if any treatment was going to save my hair, this would be it.

The Process

I walked into the Sally Hershberger salon very optimistic and very excited to finally achieve my dream hair.

I suited up for the treatment by throwing on a black robe and meeting with my hair stylist Nick Flores and his assistant Sean VanGelder. Let me just begin by saying Nick has given cuts to everyone from John Mayer to Zac Efron, so I knew from the start that I'd be in good hands.

Nick and Sean started out the process by breaking down how the treatment would work and explained they would be using a line by the name of Trissola.

In this keratin treatment system, there are three main steps: First, Nick and Sean would prep my hair with shampoo, then they'd apply the keratin treatment and balancing mask, and finally they'd seal it all in by blowdrying and flat-ironing my hair.

With both Nick and Sean working on me at the same time, the whole treatment took less than an hour. Amazing, right?

I couldn't believe that within a matter of minutes I went from fluffy and frizzy, to sleek and shiny.

The Aftermath

This is me moments after I left the salon, soaking in my newly straight hair.

After the treatment is complete, there are a few strict rules you must follow to ensure your keratin treatment gets its full life length.

The rules are as follows:

• You must not wash your hair for up to 48 hours
• You must not work out for up to 48 hours (easy enough for me ????)
• You must not tie your hair up or create creases

After those initial two days of not showering or exercising, you're free to wash and style your hair as normal.

Final Thoughts

Today was the first day I washed my hair since my appointment, and I am 100% obsessed. My blow dry time was cut in half, and my hair looked straight and sleek without even running a flat iron through it.

I was worried that my hair would no longer hold a curl, so I attempted to do a loose wave to see how it would look. Total beach hair was achieved.

Would I recommend this treatment? Absolutely, yes. If you're like me and have hair that has a mind of its own, this is the perfect solution for you. Not only will it reduce styling time, it will give you the confidence to wear your hair down every day of the week.
