Our Favorite Moments from The KingDom’s Chicago Concert

by Tayah Fox

On Sep. 11, K-pop boy group The KingDom and their fans, Kingmakers, gathered at The Athenaeum Center in Chicago for a night of music and laughter.

The unparalleled experience of witnessing The KingDom live is a treasure that will forever be etched in the memories of all fans present. The group— Dann, Arthur, Mujin, Louis, Ivan, Jahan and Hwon—embarked on the North American leg of their tour in early September, gracing New York and Washington D.C before making a stop in Chicago, where we witnessed The KingDom in action. Below are some of our favorite performances from the night.

'Flip That Coin'

The KingDom made a grand entrance with an explosive dance performance to kick off their latest hit, "Flip The Coin." As soon as the group took the stage, the audience's anticipation reached a fever pitch, infusing the venue with an electric energy. Starting the show with this song established a powerful vibe throughout the performance, which continued to treat the crowd to a series of equally high-energy acts.

Cover Stages

The group decided to incorporate cover performances of various artists into their setlist. They started with "LIKE THAT" by BABYMONSTER, during which members Mujin and Dann showcased their rapping skills. After Mujin exited, Ivan and Hwon joined Dann on stage for a rendition of "Believer" by Imagine Dragons. Following some original songs, Arthur and Louis returned to perform NCT U's "Baby Don't Stop," highlighting their impressive dancing skills. Dann and Jahan then joined Arthur to perform BooSeokSoon's debut track, "Just Do It," and the rest of the group later joined for a fun and energetic outro. Finally, the group ended the performance by singing One Direction's "What Makes you Beautiful" with the fans, creating a bright and cheerful mood.

'Blinder' ( Never Ending Version)

The night's last song came quickly, but the group didn't let it end that easily. After finishing "Blinder," they sang the chorus repeatedly, jumping and dancing with their devoted fans. They even jumped off stage and ran through the crowds to get a closer look at the ecstatic faces of KINGMAKERS before leaving the stage for the night. They took photos, accepted gifts and celebrated with the crowd until they couldn't anymore. This final performance was very personal for the audience. Every fan would love to be face-to-face with the group they adore, and these KINGMAKERS got the opportunity to have that experience that night.
