LA GOLF and Bryson DeChambeau Teamed Up to Create the Ultimate Player-Friendly Driver

If you're a golf fan who's ever found the sport more inaccessible than it needs to be, allow us to introduce you to LA GOLF.

The anti-establishment brand is all about making golf more approachable—and therefore more fun—for the average player. Most recently, they've teamed up with two-time U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau to develop a first-of-its-kind driver, designed to help players of all skill levels achieve more distance and accuracy with every shot. It's a game-changer for recreational players, and we've broken down what you need to know about it below.

LA GOLF

If you're not already familiar with LA GOLF, you should know it is the brand leading high-tech innovations in the golf industry. Everything they sell is crafted with players who love golf in mind, including golf balls, apparel, accessories and clubs of all kinds featuring the latest and greatest technology for improving your game. While other companies might tailor their gear to the pros, LA GOLF celebrates the average, everyday player who just wants to get on the green and have a good time.

The company was started by founder and CEO Reed Dickens, who's made similar strides in the baseball world with his other brand, Marucci Sports.

"LA GOLF is ultimately a middle finger to the establishment who constantly tries to make golf more difficult and less fun," he explained in a press release. "Simultaneously building a manufacturing company with innovative designs and a global lifestyle brand with social currency is difficult, but damn are we having fun."

The Driver

LA GOLF's unique new driver is the result of a collaboration with Bryson DeChambeau, co-designed by Bryson and LA GOLF chief design officer Jeff Meyer. It officially launched on March 24, 2025, as the first driver to ever feature Face ID technology.

What this means is that the driver uses a patented fitting system and breakthrough tech to match the curve of the club's face and shaft with the golfer's swing speed, reducing side spin off the heel and toe by nearly half. The result is that every hit is straighter, so if you occasionally hit slices and hooks, you can instead expect to pull off fades and draws. Plus, improved accuracy and distance don't just mean you'll perform better, but that you'll also be more confident and have more fun on the course.

"I have been on a decade long journey to solve for every possible variable with my equipment," Bryson shared in a press release. "Jeff Meyer is the most creative engineer I have ever worked with, and Reed is a proven disruptor and risk taker. That is a rare combination in the golf space, and the driver is the result of that dynamic."

"Bryson's big idea to make the curve of the face proportionate to swing speed is cutting side spin off the toe and heel almost in half, essentially turning your slice into a fade and hook into a draw," Reed Dickens added, "and the exciting part is that is works for all swing speeds."

Can't wait to test it out yourself? The driver is standard with LA GOLF's premium A series shafts, and their website even features a quiz you can take to determine your custom-fit Face ID. You answer a few questions about your play style and they fit you with the ideal driver, but if you like, you can configure your performance shaft further from there by adjusting your flex, launch and preferred weight and series on the LA GOLF website. Pricing for the drivers starts at $649.
