It's always fun to have someone you're smitten with, but it can also be super stressful, especially when you try to lay on the flirting. But don't worry, you've totally got this.

Make Eye Contact

They say that eyes are the windows to the soul, so take note and make sure to lock eyes with your cutie whenever possible. It connects you on a deeper level and can be super flirty. Making eye contact might feel awkward, but trust us, doing this equals confidence, whereas looking away can actually look way more awkward even though it doesn't feel that way.

Be Yourself

Two simple words that can be so much harder than they sound: Be yourself. It's "easy," right? Yeah, not exactly, especially when you're crushing on a new cutie. Words can get jumbled, you can freeze up or laugh aggressively at something that isn't even funny. Sure, we all have our quirks, but if you're already friends or acquaintances then you clearly have some things in common. Our advice is to take a deep breath and smile, you've got this!

Don't Come On Too Strong

Some people freeze up and go mute when they're around someone they like, while others come on way too strong. This point plays off of being yourself—but just remember you don't want to attract the wrong type of attention. If you're too loud, obnoxious, or flirt way too intensely, you might do the opposite of what you want and push your crush away.

Try Not to Overthink It

If you're the type who plays a potential situation over and over in your head before it happens, you're not alone. But overthinking your interactions can just make you more nervous. Don't get ahead of yourself and just let the situation ride out the way it's supposed to.

Be Engaging

There's a way to be charming and engaging without going overboard. Listen to what the other person says, and engage by asking follow-up questions. Laugh at jokes when appropriate, and you can even touch or graze their arm, too. Little flirty interactions will leave your potential S.O. wanting more.
