Lloyiso Shares the Real-Life Love That Inspired His Romantic New Single, ‘You’re So You’

South African singer-songwriter and producer Lloyiso is one of the most instantly captivating voices in the industry today, and if you're not yet hooked on the artist, his new single, "You're So You" is sure to win you over.

With soaring organs and a finger-snapped backbeat, the instrumentation flawlessly complements Lloyiso's luscious vocals on this romantic pop track. It's impossible not to feel the genuine emotion in every word as he sings about the authentic type of love that grounds you and helps you understand what type of person you are deep inside. When we heard it, we simply had to learn more,  and Lloyiso was generous enough to share its story with us in the interview below.

The Story Behind 'You're So You'

Lloyiso: This track was inspired by a real-life situation I had with someone I love, but really, it's so much more than that. "You're So You" is about being with someone who just feels right. You can't explain it but you know in your heart they are your person.

Lloyiso's Favorite Lyric

Lloyiso: "You remind me who I am when I lose my cool." I love this lyric. A good relationship should ground and calm you—not make you crazy.

On the Music Video

Lloyiso: I filmed the video with my friend, Cody van Wyk, in a day. I didn't have a concrete concept going into the shoot, but I knew I wanted a serene and light visual to go with the track. I don't like acting [laughs], so we just kind of started rolling and went with it. I love creating with him.

On What's Next

Lloyiso: I can't give too much away, but definitely more music, more shows and merch announcements are coming soon.
