All the Reasons You Must See London Town This Weekend
If you don't have any noteworthy plans this weekend, we strongly urge you to get your fam or squad together and go see London Town, which hits theaters today.
This coming-of-age tale follows 14-year-old Shay Baker as he ventures off to London to find his estranged mother. Through his journey, he befriends punk group The Clash, with the lead singer Joe Strummer becoming somewhat of a mentor to Shay as he tries to navigate through life.
To totally convince you of this movie's power, we're sharing four reasons why you'll be missing out if you don't watch it this weekend.

1. It's Uplifting
When you're young, you often feel as though you have no power. You can stand up for yourself, but adults will laugh in your face and note that you're "just a kid" whenever you try to do something monumental with your life. But the story of Shay proves you don't have to be over the age of 18 to make a name for yourself. We don't want to give too much away, but this 14-year-old boy accomplished more with his life than most adults dream of doing. Which brings us to our next point.
2. Daniel Huttlestone
If you've seen Into the Woods, you may recognize this cutie. He played the role of Jack, and he delivered quite the performance. Needless to say, we were stoked when we saw his familiar face pop up on screen as Shay, the protagonist of this film. And, dare we say it, his work in London Town may just be our favorite yet. Equal parts hilarious and inspiring, his character's journey will tug on your heart strings while motivating you to do something with your life.

3. The Music
Regardless of whether you're a fan of The Clash, or you don't know who they are, the soundtrack to this film is everything. It's nothing short of magnificent, and every punk rocker's daydream. You may not be a fan of the musical genre going into it, but we guarantee you'll be adding The Clash and other throwback punk bands to all of your playlists once the film ends. Or maybe you'll take it one step further and start your own punk band—who knows?
4. The Cast's Chemistry
Yes, Daniel Huttlestone's acting is top-notch in this film, but his chemistry with the rest of the cast helps make it that much more relatable. From his romance with Vivian Daniels (played by Nell Williams) to his brotherly bond with Joe Strummer (played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers), the relationships between the cast and their characters is nothing short of genuine.
