Everything You Wanted to Know About Singer-Songwriter and Actress Madisyn Shipman
We've been massive fans of actress and musician Madisyn Shipman since her time as a kid actress on Nickelodeon, but these days, Madisyn is all grown up, and she wants the world to know it.
The North Carolina native initially moved to New York City to pursue a career as an actress when she was just 7, making appearances everywhere from Broadway to The Daily Show before moving to L.A. to star in Game Shakers on Nickelodeon—and then following her passion as a musician. Last week, she released the bold pop-rock single "B**** Boy," inspired by the true story of a manipulative and toxic relationship. The track shows off a rawer, more confident side of her artistry than she's showcased in the past, and it's the very first taste of her upcoming debut album, set to drop later in 2023. "Growing up, we would make homemade German chocolate cake, which is my favorite, and now anytime I go home to visit, she makes me one. It's very sentimental and brings back so many special memories from my childhood."

3. Her favorite-ever fan encounter involved making a fan's dreams come true.
"I love volunteering my time at children's hospitals, and one year I went to the Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte and met two wonderful boys named Joe and Tristan! They had cystic fibrosis, and Joe wasn't able to attend his prom, so I got to throw him a prom and help him create a special night even though he was living in the hospital. That's by far the best fan encounter I've had because I was able to give back my love and appreciation for all the years he grew up watching and supporting me on TV! I'm so grateful to have been able to share that moment with him, because a little after that, he passed away."

"My mom is my best friend, and we constantly text and call each other even if we just finished talking to one another!"

"I have three biological brothers and two step-siblings whom I love dearly. I've always been a mini mommy and a nurturer. I think as I get older, it really solidifies the fact I want children in the future!"

"He's my celebrity crush and I could watch that movie all day every day for the rest of my life! It's so funny and light-hearted. And he's not bad to look at!"

"I feel like it's such a happy color and it makes me feel pretty anytime I wear it. Most of my closet is pink!"

"I share every part of my life (the good, the bad, the crazy, the psychotic, etc.) on my social media or through my music. Life is full of ups and downs and non-perfect moments, but I feel like in today's society, all that is shown through media is a fabrication of what people think the perfect life is. My goal is to truly show that no matter how perfect someone's life seems you never know what's going on behind the scenes. My music specifically allows me to share personal experiences from my life in a way I'm comfortable but yet still honest. I think especially with young kids joining media platforms more people should show more rawness!"
