March On Washington 50th Anniversary Celebration!

Today is the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech and the Great March on Washington!

On this day five decades after Dr. King's speech, celebrities, political leaders and more gathered in Washington D.C. to celebrate how far we've come in a more equal America.

The festivities included a performance by Mindless Behavior of their song "Future," speeches by Oprah Winfrey and President Barack Obama, and much more!

Celebrities have also taken to Twitter to post their thoughts on the momentous occasion! We think even more of our favorite people will be weighing in as the day progresses!

Super 8 and Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn actor Joel Courtney commemorated King's speech 50 years ago by quoting one of the most famous lines:

Kellan Lutz, an actor and model best known for his role as the vampire Emmett Cullen in the Twilight films, reflected on King's "I Have a Dream" speech by discussing a dream of his own:

Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell posted an inspirational quote from King on Instagram reading "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?"

Possibly most exciting was Mindless Behavior's tweet from backstage at the event today! The band mentioned the President Obama as well as former Presidents Clinton and Carter would be making speeches there today.
