McClain On Headlining At The House Of Blues!

China Anne, Lauryn and Sierra McClain are three musical sisters known collectively as McClain who have made a mark with hit songs including "Rise" and "He Loves Me." On Sunday, they'll be playing their first-ever headlining show at the House Of Blues in Anaheim!mcclain house of blues

We spoke with the McClain sisters this morning to talk about Sunday's show, their upcoming album, and a lot more!

McClain's last rehearsal for the House Of Blues show was just this morning.

"We're kind of freaking out!" Lauryn said. "We've got a great opening act for a great show and I'm excited."

The girls are no strangers to the stage, but the show on Sunday will be a landmark.

"It's our first headlining show, and it'll be the longest show we've ever done," Sierra said. "We're doing never-before-heard music, so it's a lot, but we're very excited."

5-piece boy band IM5 will be opening for the sisters.

"They are so talented, so nice and so fun," China said.

"I can't tell you how much we love those boys," Sierra added.

McClain have known IM5 for a while, so when they wanted to ask IM5 to be a part of the show, the boys were just a phone call away.

"We're actually good friends with them, so to have them join us is so cool," Lauryn said. "We've watched some of their performances live and they are literally so good."

IM5 will perform a 20 to 30 minute set before McClain take the stage. Lauryn said she'd be right there listening during their performance!

Onstage, McClain are likely to perform their latest single, the upbeat "He Loves Me," which samples lyrics from Prince's "When Doves Cry."

"Our parents were a big inspiration for that song," Sierra said. "It's got the Prince sample, and they listen to a lot of that music, which is why we listen to it."

China and Sierra both chimed in to add that the lyrics were also inspired by their experiences with boys!

Whether or not they get the Prince reference, fans of all ages have loved "He Loves Me."

"Some of the younger fans might not know what 'When Doves Cry' is, but a lot of the kids do like the song," Lauryn said.

The song was frequently requested on Radio Disney.

"That kind of surprised me," Lauryn added. "I'm happy that they liked it."

Earlier this week, McClain also performed at the Thirst Gala, an annual fundraising event hosted by the Thirst Project, on June 24.

"I was literally emotional the entire time," Sierra admitted. "It was hard to have voice control on stage because I literally just wanted to cry. It was such a spiritual, wonderful, uplifting experience."

At the event, the sisters met a number of incredible people who are making a difference in the lives of kids without access to clean water. They were particularly inspired by the work of Thirst Project founder, Seth Maxwell.

"I was very moved by what Seth and the Thirst Project are doing to get clean water to all of these kids who don't have access to it," China said. "It just really moved all of us. We didn't really appreciate clean water coming out of our refrigerators and sinks until after that. The cause is very close to our hearts."

The sisters hope to return to as many Thirst Gala events as they can.

In addition to being an incredible musical artist, China Anne McClain is also an actress, best known for her time on the Disney Channel's A.N.T Farm. This summer, she'll star in the Disney Channel Original Movie, How To Build A Better Boy!

"It was very fun shooting it," China said. "Behind the scenes there were a lot of laughs going on because the cast is kind of crazy."

China said she's excited for her audience to finally see the action-packed new movie.

"Both boys and girls are really going to like it," she said. "It's a movie that you can sit down and watch with your entire family."

The girls have also been hard at work in the studio recording their album! The girls are currently independent, have just signed on with new management and are creating amazing new music.

"We're taking a turn for the better," Sierra said. "We really appreciate our fans for being so patient because we know it's taking us so long, but we're finally getting ahead on things and starting to record this new music. I can't wait to put it out! Hopefully it'll be much sooner than later."

McClain fans who are attending their show at the House Of Blues Anaheim on Sunday, June 29, are in for a treat, because the sisters will be performing brand new songs!

They'll also be playing a few shows at state fairs in August, where they will also be performing new material!

"Hopefully that will hold them until we can put out something on iTunes and get a project together, with a music video and all that good stuff," Sierra said.

McClain also wanted to thank their fans for the continued love and support.

"We love our supporters so much!" China said. "Thank you for being so patient with us. We promise we are going to put out new music and it's not going to disappoint you."

If you can, be sure to see McClain at the House Of Blues on Sunday, in the center of Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California! They'll also be doing a free meet and greet before the show that's open to the public. Check out ticket information here!
