7 Met Gala Fantasy Gowns That Embodied Our Fave Disney Princesses and Queens

Last night we watched in awe as some of our fave celebs stepped out in the dreamiest dresses on the red carpet of the Met Gala – an annual fundraising ball (think Cinderella!) to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute.

The official theme of the ball was "Fashion in an Age of Technology," but from the look and feel of some of the dresses, we think it might as well have been themed "Fashion in an Age of Fantasy."

You have to see seven of the most whimsical designs that we think are totally reminiscent of some of our favorite Disney princesses and queens!

Who: Claire Danes, actress

Wearing what: A Zac Posen gown

Reminds us of: Cinderella! This high-tech gown actually lit up and illuminated the night.

Who: Karolina Kurkova, model

Wearing what: A wearable-tech Marchesa couture dress (in partnership with IBM)

Reminds us of: This floral sheen dress also lights up and, in our opinion, looks like it was inspired by the dress Anne Hathaway wears as the White Queen in Disney's Alice Through the Looking Glass. Do you see the resemblance?!

Who: Lupita Nyong'o, actress

Wearing what: A sparkled-to-perfection green Calvin Klein gown

Reminds us of: Lupita's seafoam green dress looks strikingly similar to Princess Tiana's from The Princess and the Frog. All Lupita is missing is the gloves!

Who: Nina Dobrev, actress

Wearing what: A gorg embroidered Marchesa gown

Reminds us of: Nina's dress is basically the spinning image of Belle's in Beauty and the Beast. Nina looks every bit as pretty as a princess.

Who: Rachel McAdams, actress

Wearing what: A glittery, gold Valentino gown

Reminds us of: Are we crazy, or does Rachel's dress not look exactly like Anna Kendrick's character, Cinderella's, in the Disney movie Into the Woods?

Who: Jourdan Dunn, model

Wearing what: A striking silver Balmain gown

Reminds us of: We totally see Queen Freya from The Huntsman: Winter's War! The metallic details are everything.

Who: Queen Bey

Wearing what: A stunning nude Givenchy ensemble

Reminds us of: Ariel's pale pink gown in The Little Mermaid. Look at those sleeves and then tell us you don't see the similarities!

These celebs could basically be princesses and queens, right?! If you're impressed by these lookalikes, then you def have to see the resemblance between these celebs and their Disney princess doppelgangers HERE.
