The Museum of Ice Cream Is the Most Instagrammable and Delicious Spot You’ll Ever Visit
When I heard that the Museum of Ice Cream would be making its way to L.A., my heart jumped out of my chest. Of course I had to get tickets, and when I did, well I pretty much lost it.
When the day finally came for me to venture through the pop-up museum, I felt like a kid in a candy store… literally.
Walking through the museum was like stepping inside Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. My childhood dreams had come true.
Everywhere you turned, there was the cutest decor just begging you to take a picture in front of it and ice cream screaming for you to devour it.
I had the best time making my way through the various exhibits. Honestly, I wish it never ended. And while I loved every second of my time at the MOIC, there were a few attractions that stood out from the rest. Scroll below to see them for yourself, and enjoy!
Puntastic Walk of Fame
If there's one thing I love more than ice cream, it's puns. The Walk of Ice Cream Fame at the museum caused tears to roll down my eyes. I mean Strawberry Short Drake and Vanessa Fudgens, c'mon! That's freaking hilarious. I know I sound like a nerd saying this, but this was probably my favorite part of the museum.
(Oh, you punny)
Scratch and Sniff Wall
Speaking of Willy Wonka, the Museum of Ice Cream took a page straight out of his book with their scratch and sniff wall. I probably spent a good 20 minutes scratching the banana stickers that lined the holographic wall. A lot of the scents were fruity, but there was one that smelled like a waffle cone.
(This wall is bananas)
Lolli Swimwear Quote
This was by far the cutest wall installation I saw in the whole museum. Seriously, that quote is too cute not to take a billion pictures of or even post to your Instagram. I know I have plenty of pics of this bad boy that I'll be sharing on my social media throughout the month.
(Couldn't have said it better myself)
Giant Melting Popsicles
This is weird to say, but I love being around things that make me feel like I've been shrunken down. If you didn't already guess, I was obsessed with the '90s classic Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Feeling like an art surrounded by huge popsicles was a pretty cool experience. I only wish I could've eaten these giant popsicles, that would've made the experience so much better.
(I'm melting)
Larger Than Life Gummy Bears
I was so happy when I left the giant popsicles to be greeted by larger-than -life gummy bears. Colorful and cute, I wanted to take one home to cuddle with for the rest of my life. Who needs a boyfriend when you've got a gummy bear?
(Do not talk to me or my son ever again)
Black Ice Cream Wall Art
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love the color black. This art piece really spoke to me. It was darker than any other exhibit in the museum, so I definitely connected with it.
(I feel this on a spiritual level)
Pool of Sprinkles
I will say I was looking the most forward to diving into the museum's pool of sprinkles, and it did not disappoint. It was oddly therapeutic in a way, but I definitely left with sprinkles in places I never thought I'd have sprinkles.
(Just keep swimming)
Strawberry Pancake Ice Cream Sandwich
Okay, so I have to come clean. I didn't eat any of the ice cream I was offered at the museum, because I'm vegan. I know, it's sad. I didn't eat this strawberry pancake ice cream sandwich either, but it looked pretty darn delicious. It was an ice cream sandwich made with pancakes! What could be better than that?
(Ice cream for breakfast for sure)
Neapolitan Ice Cream Bar Swing
Swings always bring me back to my childhood, so I was delighted to see this little guy on my way out of the museum. I'm definitely going to need one of these for my own use.
(I scream for ice cream swings)
Museum of Ice Cream Neon Sign
No museum is complete without a bold neon sign. Because they're my aesthetic, I had to take a picture underneath this one before I bid my final farewell to the museum.
(Until next time)
The Museum of Ice Cream opens this Saturday, April 22 in downtown L.A., so be sure to get your tickets HERE.
Trust me, you do not want to miss out on all this museum has to offer. From tasty ice cream to eclectic art, you're sure to have one heck of a time. I know I sure did.
Speaking of the museum, my coworker Brittney broke down just what it's like to float in their pool of sprinkles HERE.
