We're officially a month into summer, and we've gotta say—we aren't disappointed!
From fun hangs with friends to incredible weather and more, there's always something fun to look forward to—but do you know what really has us loving this season? The music! Our favorite artists and bands have been dropping new hits every single week, and this week, in particular, has been full of some total bangers. Continue below to find out all about the 1o big things that happened in music the week of July 15, 2022!
1. Spirit of the Bear Drops EP There's No Such Thing as Fire
If you're into indie rock, let us put you on the band Spirit of the Bear. Based out of Ohio, this band's new EP There's No Such Thing as Fire is full of a '70s sound that we just can't get enough of. Rock and pop music come together in this album and we think it's definitely worth a listen. "Lyrically, we wanted to give listeners the experience of a linear narrative," the band told Sweety High. "If you listen to the tracks in order, there's a story in there that progresses from track to track about a souring relationship and taking the steps needed to take better care of ourselves and learn more about myself on an individual, emotional level."

2. Madeline The Person Shares Chapter 3: The Burning EP
At just 20 years old, singer-songwriter Madeline The Person has already made quite the name for herself. Receiving tons of recognition on TikTok thanks to her hit song "MEAN!," Madeline's new EP Chapter 3: The Burning proves she has a lot more material to share with the world. If you're a fan of insightful lyrics that will punch you in the gut, we think this EP will be right up your alley. "The Burning represents the deep-rooted anger I've been holding onto for a while," Madeline told Sweety High. "My music is a way for me to talk about things that are harder to say, and I know that being angry is uncomfortable for me. It's not easy to communicate those feelings and be willingly heard at the same time. I wanted to compile my hurt feelings into The Burning and bring attention to the pain that we might be keeping in for the sake of the comfort of others."

3. Thomas Day Gets Emotional in New Single 'not my job anymore'
Experiencing heartbreak makes for a good song, and 19-year-old singer-songwriter Thomas Day knows that feeling all too well. His new song, "not my job anymore," details the aftermath of a relationship and moving on, and if you've been through a breakup yourself, this song will definitely resonate. His bold lyrics and soothing voice come through, and we can't get enough. "This song is all about having to let go of somebody completely," Thomas told Sweety High. "Not just the thought of no longer having them, but accepting the fact that you no longer get to help/are allowed to help them whenever they need that shoulder to lean on. I experienced this and it hit me extremely hard so I had to write about it."

4. Asher Monroe Unveils Third Studio Album Windows of Time
Asher Monroe just dropped his third studio album, Windows of Time, and we are completely obsessed. This eight-track album is full of emotional ballads, reflective lyrics and powerful messages. From songs like "Wanderlust" to "Season in the Sun," this album has hit after hit. "The name Windows of Time is another way for saying moments in time," Asher shared with Sweety High. "Every album I have made, I was in different places in my life, not so much physically, but emotionally and spiritually. The topics/subjects in things I wanted to write about evolve over time and this album is a snapshot or glimpse into my headspace. I'm also really into surrealist art and the idea that through each window can lead to a completely different world reflected my writing style for this album."

5. Maggie Rogers Releases New Single 'Horses'
We've said it before and we'll say it again, Maggie Rogers is one of the best musicians of our time! The release of her new single "Horses," just goes to prove our point. As part of her upcoming album Surrender, which comes out July 29, "Horses" is a track we think everyone will enjoy. "It's a song about letting go," Maggie shared in a press release. "About wanting to feel free in a time where I felt an overwhelming amount of numbness. Sometimes I'm singing to a loved one, sometimes a friend. Sometimes I think I'm singing to myself. And I love that I can't always tell the difference."
6. Sabrina Carpenter Shares New Album emails i can't send
We've been waiting months for Sabrina Carpenter to release emails i can't send, and now that it's finally here, we can honestly say it was well worth the wait. This album is complete with 13 beautiful tracks, and each one is as good as the last. We're especially loving "because i liked a boy" and its music video. We don't know about you, but we get the slight feeling she's throwing shade at Olivia Rodrigo. Watch the video below to see if you agree!

7. Ellie Goulding and Big Sean Team Up for 'Easy Lover'
Ellie Goulding never fails to amaze us with hit single after hit single, and her latest song, "Easy Lover," is absolutely no different. Featuring Big Sean, this pop song is one we plan on listening to all summer long. Plus, the music video is a must-watch! We can't get over the outfits and of course, Ellie's soaring vocals. "I wrote 'Easy Lover' in L.A. with Julia Michaels after conversations about the age-old tale of being infatuated by someone cool and beautiful knowing that they will never quite feel the same," Ellie shared in a press release about the song. "It's about going back to the same dangerous person to feel alive when you know they have hurt people again and again before you. Having the legendary Greg Kurstin produce any song of mine is always a dream come true. He always understands the assignment!"
8. Harry Styles Releases New Music Video for 'Late Night Talking'
Harry Styles doesn't ever seem to quit! From being on tour to dropping an incredibly good album, he's also decided to grace us with an incredible music video for "Late Night Talking." "Late Night Talking" has been one of our favorite songs off of Harry's World, so we were elated when we found out there was a music video to go along with the story the lyrics tell. If you watch this video, trust us when we say you won't be able to help yourself to sing along and smile!
9. ODESZA Unveils New Single 'Light of Day' Featuring Ólafur Arnalds
We've seen ODESZA live multiple times, and the duo is arguably some of the best performers we've ever witnessed, so anytime they come out with new music, we can't wait to give it a listen. The new release of their single "Light of Day," is proof that their music is truly transcendant. "'Light of Day' was one of the first songs off the record we finished," ODESZA shared in a press release. "It served as a bookend for the record—and really, a guiding light for the project as a whole. This song started with Ólafur, an incredible artist and longtime friend, sending an initial idea our way. The vocal sample is from a 1970s folk song titled 'Mary' that we discovered digging through old records—featuring Stephen Ambrose. We see that vocal as a slow-building mantra of sorts, something we that hoped would evoke this feeling of being at peace."
10. Lizzo Finally Drops Special Album
Fans (us included) have been waiting for what seems like forever for Lizzo to give us a new album, and today, she delivered! Special is now available to stream on all platforms and consists of the single "About Damn Time," which absolutely everyone has heard at this point. The album is Lizzo's fourth studio album and consists of 12 stunning tracks. From "Everybody's Gay" to "Coldplay," we think this just might be her best album yet.
