1. JC Stewart Releases Latest Single and Music Video for 'Loud'
From the moment we pressed play for JC Stewart's new music video "Loud," we were blown away. His voice has a raw edge that we can't get enough of, and paired with the video itself, it was pure magic. Partially filmed underwater, this music video was already a step above the rest. You can hear and see the emotion, and it will give you all the feels. "The concept of the video stemmed around the fact that sometimes, when I'm feeling overwhelmed, it can feel like being underwater," JC shared in a press release. "Both intense and silent. Overwhelming and solitary."
2. Jasmine Ortiz Jams at University of Miami in New Music Video, '21'
Newcomer Jasmine Ortiz attends University of Miami and took to the campus for her new music video, "21." With heavy influence from Drake, appearances by her besties and more, this video is all sorts of fun. We think the song itself is going to be a total hit this summer! "This song was really inspired by that transition period back into normal school life and into seeing my closest friends in person again after so long," Jasmine told Sweety High. "It's about reminiscing on our good times in the past and getting excited to make more memories in the future."
3. Sydney Pop Duo Cat and Calmell Come Out With EP, Life of Mine
Cat and Calmell are a pop duo from Sydney, Australia, and we're big fans. They just debuted their eight-track EP and it's everything we could have wished for and more. Full of angst and nostalgia, this new album has a way of taking you back in time. In a press release about the EP, Cat and Calmell said, "It encapsulates a time in our lives that was full of a lot of excitement but also a lot of uncertainty, it's such a time stamp of our slightly younger and slightly more reckless days."
4. Christian French Stuns With New Music Video for 'avalanche'
We love knowing when a song has been influenced by a real-life situation, and that's exactly the case with Christian French's "avalanche." Hot off the heels of a breakup, Christian let his heart out in this track, and it shows. The easy-breezy nature of the song makes you want to bob your head, and we're loving it. "It's been a really tough time not releasing music for so long, but I'm really proud of the growth that I've had in these nine months," Christian said in an interview with Sweety High. "I can't wait for the other music to start coming out. Every single song is incredible and has grown into one big story."
5. Sofia Reyes and Pedro Capo Team Up for Fun New Track, 'Casualidad'
What do you get when you put Sofia Reyes and Pedro Capo in the same room? Pure magic, that's what! The two teamed up for a stellar new track, "Casualidad," and it's about to be the bop of the summer. The song is entirely in Spanish, but even if you don't understand the language, it's a must-listen. "I don't believe in coincidences and I like to think that the universe is always in our favor," explained Sofia in a press release. "I think it is a blessing to be able to see and enjoy these coincidences, since it is what we have at that moment. This song talks about that, about two people who meet and are not afraid of what happens next."
6. Anthony Ramos Releases New Album, Love and Lies
We don't know about you, but we're getting major The Weeknd vibes from Anthony Ramos's new album, Love and Lies. Each of the 12 tracks is just as good as the one before, and we're loving every second of it. One of our favorites has to be "Lose My Mind." It's fun, light-hearted and makes us want to dance with our besties. "Sometimes, it's hard to differentiate things you love with the lie that they are, or vice versa," Anthony shared in a press release. "Something may seem like a lie, but it's really love… There's a blurred line, so you wonder whether you're going to put yourself first or this other person. You're caught between love and lies. That's what this album is really all about."
7. LANY Drops Their Latest Single, 'Dancing in the Kitchen'
Paul Klein of LANY arguably has the most angelic voice we've ever heard, and the latest drop from the band, "Dancing in the Kitchen," was perfect per usual. Instead of spending an obscene amount on production for a music video, it looks like the creative decision was to go with a more subtle approach, and the end result is hypnotic. We could watch Paul dance all night long, and the stunning brunette he tried to woo in the music video seemed to like it, too! This track is definitely going to be added to our summer playlist.
8. Miley Cyrus Covers Metallica's 'Nothing Else Matters' With Multiple Stars
Miley Cyrus has an easily recognizable voice, but we never imagined she'd rock out to Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters." And guess what? The end result was nothing short of amazing. In addition to Miley, there were tons of other stars that joined in, including Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma, Chad Smith, WATT and Robert Trujillo. The track is long, but it's something we think people all over are going to enjoy listening to.
9. Ed Sheeran Wows With His Latest Track and Music Video for 'Bad Habits'
Ed Sheeran is back and better than ever. With his latest track and music video, "Bad Habits," we're introduced to a never-seen side of the star that we're simply in love with. From the makeup to the outfits to the vocals and lyrics, "Bad Habits" is sure to be a chart-topper this summer. We truly can't think of anything better than Ed Sheeran as a flying vampire (just watch the video, you'll understand). "Feels great to be back with my new single," Ed stated in a press release. "I wanted the video for Bad Habits to play on the nature of habits in a fantastical way so I decided on vampires. It was mega fun getting into character except for the heights."
10. Doja Cat Drops Third Studio Album, Planet Her
Queen of pop music, Doja Cat, just dropped her third studio album, Planet Her. After listening to it all but one time, we knew it was going to be played on repeat again and again. With guest artists like The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, SZA and more, you just know this album has tons to offer. And even more? Doja Cat is continuing to absolutely slay with her music videos. We can't get enough.
