An At-Home Laser Hair-Removal System? Count Us In!
Hair growth is something we all have to deal with.
And while I'm more than happy to have the hair on my head grow fast, thick and healthy, I don't really like it anywhere else! Shaving every other day or so is such a hassle, so sometimes, I just let it grow out. While that may be cool for some people, I really don't like having prickly, dark hair, whether it's on my legs, armpits or even bikini line.
I've considered getting laser treatments on my armpits before, but that can cost thousands of dollars, and I definitely don't have the money. So, when the team over at Nood reached out to me, I was thrilled. They make at-home laser devices that are easy to use and safe. I've been trying it out for the last two months and can already see a difference. Keep scrolling for my full review of the Nood IPL Handset to see if it actually works.
The Product
The Nood IPL Handset: $239 (currently on sale for $167!)
Nood promises results in just 60 days or your money back, so I was curious to see whether or not I would see results. Over the course of about seven weeks, I used the Nood IPL Handset once a week on my armpit areas. That's where I grow hair fastest, and since I'm a regular gym-goer who often wears sports bras, I can't show up looking like King Kong. I mean, I can— but I don't want to!
Typically, I shave my armpits every other day—but even after one day, there's already a little bit of growth, and it is so annoying. After a few weeks of using the Nood, I've already started to notice a difference in the growth and even texture of my hair. And if you're wondering if it hurts—it doesn't at all. If anything, it's just a pinch, and it hasn't bothered me once.
After using it, I've still been shaving every other day, but the hairs have been more sparse, which I take as a very good sign. Also, while I'm not the most patient person in the world, I knew that I needed to let time do its thing. It wasn't until a few weeks later that I saw even more progress. At this point, I started shaving my armpits every one to two days. There were a few straggler hairs that were stubborn and refused to leave me alone, but other than that, I was happy with the results.
Today, I'm shaving every two to three days to tidy up, but I truly believe that with continued use, it's just going to get better. I'm even considering lasering away the hair on my legs, below my knees! I don't have the time or patience to do both of my legs in their entirety. But who knows—maybe one day, I'll take the leap.
How it Works
The Nood is super user-friendly and easy to use. I felt like an expert after my first time using it! First, you need to shave the area you plan on lasering, getting rid of any excess oils, lotions or water. Once that's all taken care of, plug in the Nood and hold down on the power button until the device turns on.
Next, click (don't hold) the power button to your desired intensity level. From there, all you need to do is hold down the big button, which is the continuous mode, and get to lasering. Be sure to cover every square inch of skin you want to be treated, and go over each area a total of three times.
Do this once a week, and you'll be good to go.
Does It Work?
If you deal with unruly hairs on your armpits, arms, legs or bikini line, like me, I would definitely suggest investing in the Nood device. You will save hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars as opposed to traditional lasering and will still see results.
However, if you're prone to sensitive skin, this may not be the device for you. I would still suggest testing it out, though. They have five intensity settings to help you find the option for you, and with their money-back guarantee, it's a no-brainer.
