This Foundation Claims You Can Sleep With It on, So I Did—Here’s What Happened
A regular skincare routine is important for a healthy, glowing complexion.
But sometimes life gets in the way and taking care of your skin takes a backseat. I would know. There have been countless nights where I was too lazy to wash my face, so I slept in my makeup. And, of course, I woke up to plenty of breakouts the next morning.
So when I stumbled upon Oxygenetix's oxygenating foundation, which claims to be so good for your skin you can sleep in it, I knew I had to give it a try.
Available in 14 different shades, I decided their Opal foundation best matched my pale skin tone.
Once the foundation finally arrived, I immediately slathered it onto my face.
I was pleasantly surprised at how light and airy it felt, especially because I put on quite a bit. I'm not a fan of makeup that feels and looks really cakey, so I quickly fell for this product.
I was also a fan of its coverage. It gave my complexion a matte look, which is hard to do considering how oily my skin is, and it covered up a few blemishes that had popped up on my chin and forehead.
The real kicker was that this foundation lasted throughout the entire day without me having to do any touchups. I even wore it to beach yoga (yes, I'm that basic) and it didn't sweat off.
Because I did beach yoga, I had to take a shower, so the foundation did come off. I ended up reapplying it before I went to bed, because I needed to know if it really kept its promise.
When I woke up, I was overjoyed that the foundation hadn't rubbed off onto my pillowcases, especially because I had just washed them a few days prior.
Even better than that, my skin felt great. There was not a single blemish in sight, although one did appear later in the evening. Thankfully it was small and went away rather quickly.
After my time with Oxygenetix's foundation, it's safe to say I'll be using this bad boy again.
It goes on easily, doesn't feel heavy and won't mess up your skin if you forget to wash it off. What more could you want in a foundation?
