Paulina Chávez Tells Us All About Playing Flora in Fate: The Winx Saga
When we initially watched the first season of Fate: The Winx Saga on Netflix, we knew we would be in for quite the show.
From the beginning, we became enthralled by Otherworld and the characters, and after watching season two, we loved getting to meet a new character, Flora! Flora is played by Paulina Chávez, and we just had to know more about the character and Paulina's time on set. Keep scrolling to find out what Paulina shared with us in an interview.
Sweety High: Tell us about your character, Flora, in Fate: The Winx Saga.
Paulina Chávez: Flora is confident, well-traveled and at ease with every situation. She really knows how to own a room. Flora is opposite from Terra, her cousin, and some sparks fly between them. Flora's truly trying to find her place in the Winx Suite.

SH: Were you a fan of Fate: The Winx Saga before you joined the cast?
PC: My sister is a high school teacher and her students recommended Fate, and then she recommended it to me! I thought it was so cool that it's an adaptation of the beloved Winx Club. It's a reimagining of the cartoon, so although there are similarities between the original, a lot of the characters and storylines are different.

SH: In what ways are you similar to Flora?
PC: Flora and I can both be feisty. We're also very observant people. We can be strong and also sensitive. Flora is a reminder to be unapologetically yourself! I adore her.
SH: In what ways are you different from Flora?
PC: Flora is very confident; she knows how to own the room. I, on the other hand, am a bit shy and an introvert with extrovert tendencies (emphasis on tendencies, lol).

SH: Do you have a favorite memory from being on set?
PC: Ooh, that's a hard one! The cast is so lovely and there was never a dull moment. I had many scenes with the brilliant Eliot Salt. She is so quick-witted. She always knows how to make me smile.
SH: Are you into the fantasy genre? If so, what books, shows and movies do you like?
PC: I'm always in a fantasy genre mood. I'm always down for a Harry Potter marathon, Vampire Diaries, Demon Slayer, Twilight—I love the vibe of it all. Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia is one of my favorite books.
SH: Are you working on any fun projects at the moment?
PC: I just finished an indie film over the summer that I'm extremely passionate about. It's heartwarming being able to tell Latino stories. I believe everyone's going to enjoy it.
