1. Use the Right Shampoo for Your Hair Type

Now is not the time to use just any ol' shampoo in your shower. To achieve a great air dry, you need to use the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type. Figure out whether your hair is fine, medium or thick, and then pick your shampoo accordingly. Fine hair, for example, won't bode well with shampoos and conditioners meant for thicker hair types because it will make the hair look greasy and weighed down.

2. Dry With Microfiber Towel

A microfiber towel will totally change your air-dry game. Not only is it more gentle on your hair, it also dries the hair quicker and helps avoid frizz.

3. Brush Properly

This is an essential step—once you've finished towel-drying, comb your hair through. If you have straight hair, use a paddle brush; if you have wavy hair, opt for a wide-toothed comb; and curly hair types can gently rake through with their fingers.

4. Add Product

Product can make all the difference. Straight hair types do well with a light oil on the ends, wavy hair works well with an oil-lotion hybrid, and curly hair loves mousse.

5. Don't Touch It

It sounds simple, but this is the most crucial step—once you've air-dried, combed and applied product, don't touch it! The more you touch it, the frizzier it will become. Leave it be and wait for your best air-dry ever.
