The Pisces Personality Types You’ll Encounter in Life

If you've been feeling more creative, aloof and emotional lately, that just might be the whimsical energy of Pisces season at play.

According to astrology, this time lasts from approximately Feb. 19 to March 20, and it's when dreamy, sensitive Pisces are born. Of course, no two Pisces babies are exactly alike, and while it can be easy to stereotype, there are all types of wonderful Pisceans in the world, each contributing in their own way. Curious about the most common varieties? Keep scrolling to learn more about the Pisces archetypes you're likely to encounter in life.

The Dreamer

If we could pick just one word to describe Pisces, it'd be "dreamy," so it should come as no surprise that many Pisces fit a dreamer archetype. Their imaginations are unmatched, but often their lofty goals remain just dreams because they can't always follow up their dreams with actions. They're also idealistic, seeing the best in people, and can have escapist tendencies, daydreaming their lives away—especially when things get difficult. When they can pair their incredible ideas with a commitment to realize them, they're pretty much unstoppable.

The Creative

Being a dreamer and being creative often go hand in hand, and these Pisces are the ones who make tangible things out of nothing. They express their rich inner worlds and channel their experiences by creating, whether that's painting, drawing or crafting, writing, musical or theatrical performance or any other kind of imaginative pursuit. They're always coming up with new ideas, and even when they're shy about putting them out into the world, they do so with profound feeling that also stirs up powerful emotions in others.

The Intuitive

Pisces are one of the sensitive watery signs, with intuition that can be so finely tuned it can feel like they're nearly psychic at times. These Pisces can be a little guarded and closed off, but they're keen observers who tend to see things that others can't. Often, they're also interested in the metaphysical, such as astrology and tarot readings, and their guidance simply seems truer than most. They can also be very easily hurt, as they're very emotional, but this can be helpful to them in many ways.

The Planner

Pisces aren't typically known for being very acton-oriented, but as part of a team, they can be extremely effective as planners because of their ability to go with the flow. They tend to foresee things that might go wrong and are both adaptive and flexible, allowing them to conceptualize plans B, C and D just in case something goes wrong. And if all of those plans fail, while they might find the situation stressful, they're fully capable of re-assessing the situation and adapting to new circumstances with ease, guiding the whole group to success.

The Carer

Pisces just may be the most compassionate and sympathetic sign of the zodiac, which explains why so many of them are natural-born caretakers. They're extremely sensitive to the needs of others and do their best to help how they can, especially when it comes to lending emotional support. They also have a tendency to be selfless, sometimes sacrificing a little too much of themselves in the process of caring for others. It's important that these Pisces find their own support system, even if that's just someone reminding them not to neglect their own needs.
