Everything to Know About Pokémon GO’s Party Play—Just in Time for Halloween
Pokémon GO may be more than seven years old at this point, but the game is still constantly evolving with new content and features, and their newest way to play is here just in time for Halloween.
The brand-new Party Play feature launched on Oct. 17, allowing players to join together for local co-op play outside of Raid Battles for the very first time. Here's everything you need to know about Party Play.
Party Play's New Activities
With Pokémon GO's new Party Play, up to four friends in the same area can select Party Challenges to play in a new way and tackle activities together. Players will see their friends' avatars on the map as they hunt for Pokémon for the first time, and whether you all decide to spin PokéStops, do some raid battles together or catch Pokémon is up to you, and the more Party Challenges you complete, the more rewards you can rake in.
You can also check in on the progress of your party at any time by looking at the Party tab under your Trainer profile or through your map's PokéStop icon. It keeps tally of Pokémon, Throws, Aventure, Battle and General stats as you all work together. If you're going trick-or-treating with friends this year, this also means you can kill two birds with one stone as you go house-t0-house and capture Pokémon as you go.
Who Can Participate?
Any trainers who are level 15 and above in Pokémon GO can join groups of up to four friends in one shared in-game experience.

How to Join a Party

The Power of a Party
Joining a party also grants extra benefits in Raid Battles, as your team will have access to the new Party Power ability. Party Power is charged with every Fast Attack from your team and makes your next Charged Attack deal twice the damage. This also means that the more Trainers in your party, the faster your Party Power will charge up.
