Celebrity Stylist Andrew Fitzsimons Tells Us All About the Most Popular Hairstyles This Fall
When it comes to hair, it's definitely one of our favorite assets to play around with during the holidays.
Whether we're styling it for a fancy party, getting a new cut or simply playing around with the color, there will always be something new that can be done. This fall is no different, and we wanted to learn all about what's trending. We spoke with Andrew Fitzsimons, hairstylist to celebs including the Kardashians, Jenners and Adriana Lima, just to name a few. Keep reading for the inside scoop Andrew gave us about the most popular hairstyles this fall:
Sweety High: What is the hair color this fall?
Andrew Fitzsimons: We're seeing a lot of warmer tones this fall—think rich chestnut browns and cinnamon highlights, as well as colors that are easy to maintain, such as golden-browns and dirtier blondes. Additionally, as we've seen the past few seasons, pastel colors are here to stay.
SH: Any specific haircuts/styles that are super popular?
AF: There are two big trends we're seeing. First, we're seeing a lot of tousled and "undone" '70s- and '80s-inspired cuts for fall. This cut is super versatile and, because it's meant to have some texture to it, it's even easier to maintain with virtually any hair type. On the flip side, we're also seeing a good amount of super sleek styles. These cuts are definitely more sophisticated but are still very trend-forward.
SH: What are your thoughts on curtain bangs?
AF: I am a huge supporter of curtain bangs, especially after what we've all gone through in 2020. With more standard, blunt bangs, you need to have them trimmed pretty frequently. Curtain bangs are a great option because they are low maintenance, they're typically longer and have wispier ends than a standard bang and they require very little touch-up. These are a much softer look than blunt bangs, and less dramatic than side-swept bangs.
SH: Wavy, curly or straight this fall?
AF: I think there's a place for all three this season! We've seen everything from long and sleek to people embracing their texture with more natural waves and curls.
SH: Any inspo pics for holiday hair?
AF: Here are some of my favorites…
