4 Popular New Year’s Resolutions to Try If You Haven’t Thought of Any Yet
In the blink of an eye, the year is about to say goodbye—meaning the new year is right around the corner.
If you're as unprepared as the rest of us, that means you've probably given barely a fraction of thought to what your New Year's resolutions might be. Well, you can take one less worry off your list this year, as we've got a few popular ones for you to check out here:
1. Get More Exercise
In the wise words of Elle Woods circa Legally Blonde, "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy." Who doesn't want to be happier in the new year? Exercise is fantastic for so many reasons, from keeping you happy and healthy to helping you deal with the regular stresses of life. That makes this one a great inclusion on any list of New Year's resolutions.

2. Try New Things
They don't call it a comfort zone for nothing, but leaving that zone behind once in a while and purposefully trying new things can open up a world of possibilities for you. You can start small with something like ordering something other than your "usual" at your favorite restaurant, go a little bit further by trying an entirely new type of cuisine or doing something that you normally would never—whether that be visiting a certain restaurant, participating in an activity or even trying out for a sports team. You never know where trying new things might take you, from forming new favorites to new friendships, hobbies and beyond.

3. Get Organized
"Organized chaos" is a term at the top of many of our vocabularies, but there's no time like the present to cut down on the chaos and get a little better at the organization part. You don't have to take a complete 180 and start planning every single moment of your life or having a labeled spot for every item you own, but a bit of organization in the form of cleaning up after yourself, putting your clothes away as soon as the laundry is done or keeping your desk free from clutter is a great way to declutter both your space, schedule and mind.
4. Travel More
All things considered, travel is exceptionally beneficial (if the year allows, of course). It helps you get outside of that aforementioned comfort zone, meet new people, create incredible experiences and generally just mature in more ways than you had previously thought possible. Whether you decide to study abroad (you can check some of the reasons why to do this by clicking HERE), going to see some family out of state or simply taking a trip with your closest family that requires nothing more than hopping in the car, traveling is an experience like no other.
All in all, resolutions aren't so hard if you simply try to think of them as general goals that can set you up for success. Write a few of these or some of your own down and put them somewhere you'll look at often for best results, but also don't be so hard on yourself if your resolutions don't last long (you certainly wouldn't be alone).
With that said, there's no reason you can't start smashing some healthy goals now before we kiss the old year goodbye! In fact, we've got a few ideas—just click HERE to read about them.
