Metallic Dresses

Hollywood set the prom dress guide this year. This year's awards season had the red carpet filled with glittery shades of gold, silver and bronze. And no, we're not just saying that because we are freshly out of the Olympics. Jennifer Lawrence and Gal Gadot wore the metallic trend at the 2018 Oscars.

The Open Back Dress

There's  nothing that says class like an open-back dress. It's trendy this year, and it's the perfect way to feel like the prom queen even if you don't win. The key to the open back is keeping everything else covered. For example, long sleeves or a high neck. These details will really draw in the beauty of the back.

 

Soft and Velvet

If you aren't feeling the metallic dress look and would rather go with a pop of color, try your dress in soft velvet. Velvet is all the rage this year. It's comfortable, elegant and will look gorgeous and subtle in a red, green, blue, or even classic black.

 

Shimmery Eyeshadow

Going along with the metallic dress tone, the same color is trending for eyeshadow.  Pair the shade of your dress with a metallic glittery eye dust on your lid. Keep the lid color a lighter shade and use a darker glittery shade for the crease.

Hair with a Side Twist

If you go with the low-back dress, this updo would be perfect. Only do twists on one side with a side part, and have the rest curly and up.

This look is perfect if you want a softer hairstyle. It's trendy with the braid, but also unique because it's also a side pony. This look is perfect for any style dress.
